“Exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

We had the Cable Beach Club Resort recommended to us so we knew it was going to be a good place to stay. We were very impressed with the resort itself and the service we received during our one week stay recently.

The resort itself is beautiful. The gardens are lovely and there are plenty of places to sit and have a drink during the day (the Club restaurant bar and the two pool areas). From 4 pm the Sunset Bar and Grill opens but it gets busy very quickly, so if you want to get a seat there to view the sunset, get there soon after it opens.

We booked into a hotel-style room which was spacious and beautifully set up. It also had a lovely balcony from which to watch the world go by when we weren't out and about. We were really amazed at how quiet our room was given that there are alot of hotel-style rooms and buildings near-by each other.

For meals we tried both the lunch-time cafes, the Sunset Bar and Grill and the Thai Pearl restaurants for dinner, as well the Sunset Bar's snack / light meals (which forms the basis for the in-room dining menu). We were happy with all the restaurants although being a resort, expect to pay about $20 per person for midday meals and about $50 or so for evening meals if eating at the resort. I should also mention the excellent breakfasts which we had included as part of our room booking, which consisted of a full buffet at the Sunset bar. The breakfast is held over a very generous time range too from 6.30 - 10,30 am.

Finally, we were very impressed with the staff and service we received during our stay. The staff were always friendly and helpful, especially the housekeeping staff who promptly followed up our requests.

I have two very minor suggestions for the resort and that would be to include more vegetarian meal options as these were a bit limited, and to consider updating their bed linen at some stage. These two points would not affect my recommending the resort to others, however.

I have just returned from Cable Beach Club resort after a 6 night stay. The location of the hotel is wonderful right opposite cable beach, the hotel rooms are probably 3 1/2 - 4 star and very dark inside. I don't like the way they have a sheet, a blanket and a sheet on top instead of a bed cover, it is cheap looking and downgrades the rooms. The sheets also need to be replaced as they were like sandpaper to sleep on. If you are staying here and want to eat in any of the restaurants in the resort you must book ahead. On the last night we left it to 1.00pm to book and could not get in to any of the restaurants, in the end we had to order room service which took 1 1/2 hours and then arrived with no cutlery, salt and pepper, plates or serviettes or wine glasses. I would normally write this sort of thing on a comment form but there was none in the room and the reception staff did not know what I was talking about. The breakfast was okay but a bit of a feeding frenzie with all the kids making a huge mess everywhere. The staff were all delightful in the Sunset restaurant, they were all hard working but there just needs to be more staff there to cope with the huge number of tourists that come through there in the high season. They had a lot of trainee staff from Indonesia who were all lovely and very friendly. The resort itself is set in beautiful grounds and they have two pools and adults only pool and a family pool. The adults only pool is a real selling feature of this resort. We had stayed here 6 years ago and nothing in the resort appeared to have changed since our previous stay. Overall a pleasant stay but if not for the location you would stay somewhere else.

Thanks for your review and yes, I agree that our tranquil, adults only Ocean Pool is a real highlight of the resort. Your concerns regarding breakfast and room service have been addressed with the appropriate Resort Managers in order that a more effective level of service can be implemented.

We wanted to spoil ourselves and chose Cable Beach Club villa accommodation. We were met at the airport by our personal butler who drove us to the hotel in a limo and checked us in after showing us around. The villa was first class and we made plenty of use of the plunge pool. We deliberately chose the week before Easter as it wouldn't be crowded as we we glad we did as the kids were pouring in on the day we left. The restaurants were very good, the staff very friendly and helpful. It was not cheap but if you want that extra bit of luxury I recommend it.

We return for our 8th year in a row. Yes it is a great location but you pay for it and it cannot be classed as 5 star although the prices are! Despite this, it was packed and before school holidays! I would definitely avoid the latter, breakfast was a bun fight and it was very difficult to get a seat for the sunset at the Sunset Bar. Because it was so popular we noticed a distinct absence of help and friendliness on the part of the front desk etc. We also found our bed and pillows ( Garden View Studio) to be very hard and uncomfortable ( back still sore!!!).
On the plus side, the food at the Sunset Grill and breakfast had definitely improved.
If you want privacy avoid the rooms around the Ocean(adult) Pool. It has been our preferred location to run away from the Melbourne winter and the local weather did not disappoint, however we are now thinking Hawaii might be as good and an even cheaper option next year!

We place great value on our return guests and whilst I was pleased to read your positive comments regarding the Sunset Bar & Grill, I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss a return visit with you personally to ensure you are provided with the very best accommodation option.

The cheapest rooms are around the AUD 300 mark during shoulder season. Special conference price was AUD 280. Pretty dark rooms in some parts (ask for top floor rooms or the more wxpensive ones if u like lots of light like me!) Good quality comfy beds, nice spotless bathroom with bottomless l'occitane products. Good service, above average food, nice view of sunset & bar, access to beach next to public carpark which can get pretty crowded w busy traffic on the beach itself at peak times (near sunset)......if u are there for the beach, I would pick a less popular area of Cable beach like say coco ecco b&b ($250 - $275) at the top end of Cable Beach (close enough by car to town - 20mins) but far enough to have the beach to yourself (sometimes).

We recently enjoyed a four day break in Broome - our first time there. Friends recommended the Cable Beach Resort, and my goodness, their recommendations were right on the button!
June, July, August were recommended as the best months to visit, and we'd have to agree. Lovely 30 degree days with little humidity while we were there.
The resort's shuttle picked us up from the airport and on arrival, we were greeted with a chilled glass of bubbly, before being taken ( along with our luggage) by golf cart to our ocean view room.
The resort is set in acres of tropical gardens with water features - a pleasure to wander around, and being right on Cable Beach is a real bonus.
Both a family pool and an adults only pool area were on offer, as well as a great selection of restaurants. You'd struggle to find a better buffet breakfast selection than at the Sunset Cafe, and dinner at The Club or the Thai Pearl is a special treat - excellent menus and service.
For more casual meals, the Sunset Bar and Grill served us well, though try to avoid the crowds who flock there to watch the spectacular sunsets.
A courtesy shuttle is available to take you into the Broome township - or catch the Town Bus, which stops right out front of the resort.
It's not the cheapest place to stay, but you get what you pay for - great location, great service and wonderful atmosphere. We didn't begrudge a cent. And the staff are to be complimented for the smiling attention they give to visitors to the resort.
It was a very special stay, and return visits are already being planned.

We recently stayed at Cable Beach Resort and Spa for 4 nights. The location is brilliant.....right next to the beautiful Cable beach. There is also a town bus, which stops outside the resort.
All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I requested a room near the adults pool and this was in a nice quiet location.
Also, the staff at the tour desk were great....full of good suggestions. We also cooked a BBQ in the resort gardens and all the plates, crockery and even tomato sauce were provided for us, at a small fee - thank you!
However, I think the resort is looking very tired, even though the gardens are a credit to them.
Our room was incredibly dark with a small balcony overlooking the pool. It was not great sitting there because it was small with an uncomfortable bench, as a lounge.
The floorboards squeaked in many spots on the floor and we felt sorry for the people in the room below!
Considering the cost of our stay at this resort, I feel that it it overpriced. The resort will need a good coat of paint and other touches to make it a 4 to 5 star resort.
