“Magnificent: spacious, opulent and comfortable”
Reviewed February 4, 2011

Arriving here late and in the dark was like entering into El Dorado. It was far more stylish and atmospheric than our imaginations had conceived. A timber door leads to a courtyard with a deck down one side leading to the second and third bedroom. They are small though well appointed. But the revelation was the living room/dining and kitchen area and the main bedroom. So big and fresh. Everything is on a grand scale. There are even two showers in the bathroom. We loved it here. It was the kind of place you could actually live in. And well the plunge pool was just perfect. We appreciated all this luxury for just $299 a night on the seven day rate in Jan. You do need at least a week in case rain keeps you at home. But we didn't run out of things to do in Broome even in the wet season. Best bargain ever.

We stayed at The Pearle in November for 14 nights in the one bedroom pavilion which at this time of year meant we got a great deal. After initially booking a two bedroom I was concerned about where the second bedroom was located and after contacting The Pearle the staff were very helpful and emailed me a floor plan of the pavilion and at which time we decided that a one bedroom was best for us with young children. We had a 2 month old baby in our own portacot and a 15 month old in a rollaway (which we paid extra for). Despite having the extra bed and cot in the pavilion it was still more than spacious. The windows didn't have blinds or curtains which was nice during the day but at night when the children were sleeping it was quite light with the moonlight and also made them wake up as soon as the sun came up. The facilities of the pavilion were absolutely fantastic. The outside dining area and bbq were used constantly for breakfast and dinners. The private pool was the reason we booked the resort and it was fantastic in our situation with 2 young children that need to sleep during the day. It meant we were able to enjoy the pool while they slept. Check in was the most thorough I have ever experienced and the staff were very knowledgeable. We had a family member come and stay in a guest room while we were there and the staff were very helpful in giving him the guest room adjoining our pavilion. With Broome being quieter in November the only downfall we found was that many places, restaurants in particular had reduced opening hours and days and in some cases were even closed for the next several months over the wet season. Overall we had a great time in Broome and at The Pearle and will be back again later this year!

My hubby and I stayed here for 3 nights end of Dec. Got a very good price on a guest room, but couldn't believe how small it is! Just enough room for the KS bed, which was very comfortable and a separate bathroom. The breakfast in the small on-site cafe was nothing to write home about, and only buffet continental available. Also the cafe closed for the day at 10.30am! Maybe just the time of year. The resort is kept beautifully, and room clean but the location is a fair walk to anywhere. We were told a 10min walk to lunch at the recommended Zoo cafe, but it was more like a 25min walk in the summer heat and the cafe was closed! We did do the walk again but in the evening, it was open and although the service was outside, the meal was very enjoyable and great service. Cocktails available too! Cable beach is a longer walk but you can catch the bus just across the road outside the Frangipani and when we got this sorted we caught the bus everywhere, comes on the hour. Just $3.50 into town, $2- $2.50 around cable beach and you can get a day pass for $10. The cafe facing the beach called Zanders was great too as is The sunset bar and grill to watch the sun go down at the Cable beach resort and the cafe inside the resort by their reception is exquisite.

Thank you for your constructive comments.
We understand the differences between our Pearle Pavilions which are over 200m2 in size and our Guest rooms, which are effectively a Motel style room with a very spacious ensuite with walk in rain shower. Perfect for the short stay in Broome. We offer a full continental Breakfast buffet daily in our cafe that overlooks the 25m main infinity pool. This Breakfast is complimentary for guests that stay in the Guest rooms.
The distance to Old Zoo Cafe is about 950m. The time it takes to walk there will depend on the speed you walk. It is a very relaxing walk with no hills. We can confidently say it takes on average about 10 to 15 mins to the Old Zoo cafe and around 15 to 20 minutes to the famous Cable Beach. We also have scooters for hire at the resort and our tour desk is happy to arrange car hire when needed. The public bus, as you have mentioned leaves directly opposite The Pearle and is a very reliable and cheap way of getting around town.

We are now trialing a brand new category called our 'Guest Room Deluxe' option. We have installed within a guest room an outdoor kitchenette with BBQ and seating area. We have even installed a very comfortable Day bed within this new category. Perfect for those balmy Broome nights. This concept is still compact compared to our amazing Pearle Pavilions but again, they are perfect for those short stays in Broome.
Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to hosting your stay when in Broome again.

Paul Coggan,
General Manager.

We travelled during the wet season, so hotel was very quiet, which suited us. Price of a stay drops hugely at this time of the year, and you have the place to yourself just about. The private plunge pool in our extremely large accommodation was fantastic - we could dip in and out all day. Accommodation had everything we needed - large, cool, well equipped kitchen, double showers in bathroom. Staff were helpful and friendly.
I think things would be a little more crowded and noisy (from people staying in adjoining accommodation) during the dry season, but the quality is fantastic and the pool gets a big tick!

I booked at this hotel for ten nights next month yesterday with last minute.com.au

Just got a 'phone call from the hotel demanding an extra $300 for a cot for the two year old.

No mention of this on last minute.com.au

Not looking forward to the holiday now

We regard this review as totally unjust and unfair. We have never had a policy of hidden costs associated with our resort and take offense to being misrepresented in this way. Please be aware that this person seemed to have had an ulterior motive in posting this unwarranted negative review.

Lastminute.com does not have facility to book cots online and we don't promote anywhere that cots or extra bedding is a free facility. This person emailed us through Lastminute.com to book a cot. We phoned him personally to let him know that we do have availability and that there would be an extra charge. We also mentioned that if he had his own cot that he could bring then he was more than welcome to use it within the spacious Pavilion he had booked.

We have not, and would never demand anything from our guests. When this person suggests that we 'demanded $300', I take offence to this person, who goes under the cloaked name of ‘pommyerrol’.
His actions at this stage have lead us to believe that ‘pommyerrol’ was basically demanding a free cot hire for 10 days or he would post a negative review on Trip advisor. We obviously didn’t pander to his unreasonable demands.

This person proceeded to phone our reception person on a number of times that morning, pushing her to give him what he wanted. He also then started to probe her for personal information- her name etc. He then became quite an unsavory character, becoming very irate. His mannerisms were seen as quite threatening.

We do whatever we can to make sure that our guests enjoy their stay with us and we try to provide everything within reason to help make their stay an amazing experience, but on this occasion we felt that this was quite an underhanded act, and to enable this person to stay with us was seen as putting our team and other guests at possible risk.
Following the last phone call with ‘pommyerrol’ which left the person on reception quite distraught, we have since canceled his reservation with us. Lastminute.com had no hesitation in working with us to cancel his booking .

The most detailed check in service ever, well done to the short blonde haired woman from 2 very experienced travelers.
The 2 bedroom villa was great in so many ways. For myself and a work collegue it was large enough to be away from each other whilst saving on shared accommodation costs.
The lounge is huge, the garden is impressive, the bathrooms and attention to detail of the villas is sensational, well done team.
Even though we were there on work, it did feel like we where in a Balinese or Thai villa stepping out into our own lap pool.
