“we didn;t want to leave our pavillion.....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2010

We got an awesome last minute deal, which was fantastic, considering it's still the high season. We stayed in a "guest room" on our first night, as all the 1 bed pavillions were taken. We then moved to a pavillion for 4 nights the next day. The pavillions are definitely worth it, if your budget can move there. The "guest room" was your typical hotel room, very clean and functional. We didn't sit on the little balcomy outside our room, as we were opposite the back of the cafe/pool area, and all you could hear outside our room was constant "machinery" noise, sounded like a pool pump or something at the cafe. Just unlucky to be in that particular room, as you couldn't hear it further down (we went for a walk) outside other rooms. Breakfast was the usual fare for continental, nothing special. One thing we did find odd was there was no folder or compendium for guests to refer to in the room, but we found one in the 1 bed pavillion once we moved.

We loved the 1 bed pavillion (in a different area of the resort), so quiet and peaceful, and very private. The high walls and beautiful landscaping was wonderful. The design of the pavillions are fantastic, especially if there was a group of people sharing a 2 or 3 bed pavillion, there is just so much space. Loved all the modern decor and appliances. We didn't swim in our plunge pool, as the water was too cool, but we did enjoy a swim in the main pool that is heated.

It was a 20min walk to Cable Beach, and slightly less to some of the restaurants in the area. We had a car, so it was easy to get around, and I think that you would enjoy Broome so much more with a car. We ate twice at Azuki (near China Town) and would recommend it if you like Japanese food with a twist.

We had to make our booking at The Pearle over the phone, as the website booking facility was not working at the time. Wendy at reception was friendly and managed the booking efficiently. She also offered advice on places for dinner etc. when we asked at check in.

Would definitely stay here again if we can get a good last minute deal. The full rack rate is probably out of our budget.

We got an excellent rate for a 7 night Rest & Revive package in the "shoulder" season of May 2010. Heaven on a stick. Privacy, luxury, close to the Town bus and cheap to use ($10 for a day pass). It took us 20 mins to walk to the beach but a very relaxed walk. The Pearle was exactly what I wanted of my holiday. I want to go back - constantly. Only problem - the airfare from Melbourne!! Will definite go back and have already told my friends!

we got a 1 bedroom pavillion & had a 9 month old baby. This place is fantastic.....huge and great for our baby to crawl (he learnt to in Broome). Own lap pool but it is cold as the temps get cooler in night and not in sun for long. pool in compound is heated so this 1 is fantastic. decor very contemporary and the best kitchen....tv in bedroom and lounge ..great when bubs went to bed early. I have to say the walk to cafes and the beach is not as long as people say.....they must be walking very slow...we had no car stayed 1 week....went into town on bus (15 mins, stop across road) and bought most food for the week...broome is extremely expensive.....the pavillions are so secluded ....there is a patio with table and BBQ...everything is so clean....we could cook/eat after bubs went to bed out there..also 2 weeks before (if available) they put awesome deals up for 1 bedroom pavillions....thankyou Pearle for making our first trip as a family absolutely brilliant

My mum and I stayed at The Pearle for three nights earlier this month and we were both very happy with the hotel.

Our room, whilst on the small size, was beautifully decorated in neutral colours with local art on the walls. The bathroom was of a very decent size and boasted a wonderful shower.

The hotel is an easy stroll to a handful of cafes and the beach just a few minutes further on. The bus stop into town is only moments away so all in all it's in a great location.

Internet was available but it was very expensive - I think Australia is a bit behind when it comes to offering free wi-fi.

The only other negative I can think of is that information was a bit lacking. Usually you would find a booklet or folder in the room, detailing the hotel's facilities and attractions in the local area, but not at The Pearle.

Overall, a lovely hotel in a convenient location. I would definitely return. Maybe next time I would treat myself to a pavilion!

My husband and I spent four nights at the Pearle at the beginning of June. We arrived at night and were glad that we had been to Broome before and knew that the "Cable Beach" designation in the address did not actually mean at the beach but more in the Cable Beach suburb. Reception was closed when we arrived (reception hours are 08:00 - 17:00, even though this was the start of high season), however the receptionist came after we rang a bell. The plus was the room - not too large but decent beds, great bathroom (shower only) and all the flat screen TV, fridge (not mini bar), etc that we needed. We were able to sleep with the door open, and so conserve energy by not using the air conditioning.

There is a pool on the property which is quite nice, other than that the wooden deck lounges have no cushions which makes lying on them for any length of time uncomfortable. Towels for the pool are in the room. There is a cafe, but as mentioned in other reviews, it is not open.

Lovely compound, but there is very little service other than cleaning of the rooms. We used the computer/internet at reception and were surprised to be charged $5 for this - we have been in Argentina, Brazil, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia so far this year and this is the first time that we have incurred a charge for using internet. Overall nice room, but you need a car if you want to enjoy a stay here as the nearest shops and restaurant are about a 20 minute stroll and Cable Beach 30 minutes.

We loved the fish and chips Wharf Restaurant at the Port - great grilled fish and reasonable prices! We returned twice.

We spent 9 days in a 2 bedroom pavillion. Gorgeous accommodation. Everything we needed and more. A few things to note: The cafe was not open and is not going to be open this year. This may not seem like a huge problem, but its a good 30 minute walk to the general store. Would have made life easier if we had somewhere onsite to grab a sandwich... We took our 6 month old baby and another important thing to note is that the 2nd (and 3rd bedrooms) are actually accessible from outside, not from within the apartment. So it meant we had to put our baby to sleep in an external room (we could have shared our room with her but we are not keen on this). They do provide baby monitors which is good. It really wasn't a huge problem for us, but I imagine if you had children who were older, they wouldn't like being locked in a room overnight and you wouldn't like not being able to get to them quickly.
We also found (again probably because we had a baby with us) that we absolutely had to hire a car. We didn't realise how spread the restaurants and resorts were around Broome. Life became much easier once we hired a car.
I would stay at the Pearle again, but also would try other resorts that are maybe closer to the beach and other resorts with restaurants.

The pavilions are fantastic for the families as there is so much room and they are very safe. The second and third bedroom are though semi detactched for the main living area. We do have some Pavilions where this aresa is semi enclosed. Great for the young families. Please advise when booking. The other Pavilions are perfect for the medium to older age families and especially couples traveling together. Pleanty of space and social areas.

As we are still a new resort, the onsite cafe is still finalising some planning requirements. We are actually very hopefull of having The Pearle Cafe up and running for breakfasts and snacks by the end of June.
Yes, the General store is about a 3 minute drive but as the previous reviewer pointed out, there are actualy at least 6 cafe/bar restaurants only about a 10 to 15 minute walk from The Pearle. Very central with in Cable Beach. The Beach is only about a 3 minute drive or a 15 minute walk. And don't forget that every Pavilion has it's own private 8 m swimming pool if you don't choose to venture out for your water activities
.
The Pearle is actualy one of the closest resorts to the famous Cable Beach within the Broome region, but I would reccommend a hire car no matter where you stay if you stay for 3 nights or more. Broome and Cable beach are quite spread out and there is so much to see and do in the surrounding areas. A car makes every thing accessible.
Thank you again for your constructive comments and we look forward to making your stay even more enjoyable next time you stay in Cable beach.

we stayed in a one bedroom pavilion with our 2 1/2 yr old and in one word "LOVED" this place. From the moment we arrived, which was alot earlier that we had anticipated the staff were extremely happy to help us get into our room early. The pavilion was like walking into an apartment, it was fantastic with the bedroom large enough for the huge bed for us and our child to have a port-a-cot and still plenty of space for all our bags and odds and ends. The bathroom again was huge with plenty of room to store our stuff and the shower from the ceiling was fantastic. The kitchen area was great with plenty of room to cook and all the basic utensils in which to cook with, as well as the b.b.q outside in the al-fresco area which was used most nights.
The lounge area was great with comfy couches and a great t.v and d.v.d which we eventually got working after 10 Min's ( maybe instructions would have been nice). But the best part of this pavilion was having our very own pool which our kid loved, we were a bit worried having seen people write comments saying it was cold but they need to harden up cos it was perfect .
The location of the Pearle was not to bad as some people have you believe, the walk down the road to the "zoo cafe" was an easy 10 mins and the another 5 Min's was the stunning cable beach. A car would have been nice to get around in as we had to buy food for our stay in the pavilion and using the bus with kid in tow was at times hard but we managed.
So in summary when we booked this place we got a terrific deal for staying 7 nights and we loved every minute of "the Pearle" and broome/cable beach so we are already looking at next years calender so we can come back.
