Description: Opah's Malaysian and Thai is the only authentic and traditional Restaurant in Port Melbourne. Named as one of The Age's top cheap eats of Melbourne, this restaurant lives up to its reputation. Mains include a variety of spicy Malaysian seafood dishes as well as a pan-fried duck and some beef and chicken curries. Consistency is the hallmark of this restaurant.

This worked out as a good option for a Malaysian vegetarian takeaway. we went for Singapore noodles, a vege Lanka and gado gado, along with a serve of coconut rice and a roti. Not a cheap option at 50 bucks, but worth the money for lovers of Nonya flavours!

This had a busy and bustling feel to it. The range of food to choose from was amazing; although we were not after crab that night, we were impressed by the many different dishes featuring crab, but when the Delicate-Stomached One checked, there was very little that she could actually eat - she likes chilli, but it doesn't like her. Staff made recommendations, but when the dish arrived and was tried, she knew there would be trouble ahead. The staff were most obliging, took it away and brought something else. However, even that was a bit much and she suffered mightily the next day. Having said that, the flavours were good and the Dining Partner declared his "Pretty good" which is a high accolade from him.

On Monday 14th May i visited your restaurant following a recommendation from a friend and i certainly wasnt dissappointed, the decor is warm modern and welcoming and the service was very attenative. However the crescendo of the night was the salted egg crab and the chilli crab both a must when you visit

We had a takeaway from Omah's and found it to be nearly inedible. Very heavy sludgy food. Wouldn't go back.

We are now regulars at Omah's. With the competition that exists within walking distance in Port Melbourne that's really saying something.
On our last visit we went with friends and had the Tasty Beef, Nyonya Fish and Gado Gado. All dishes were excellent and packed a punch. We'd also recommend the Baba's Beef and ginger fish but the menu includes a lot of interesting dishes we haven't tried such as the mud crab.
You can't go wrong at Omah's in Port Melbourne.
