“Great food with a cause”
Reviewed July 25, 2014 via mobile

You haven't been to Melbourne if you haven't eaten here.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Melbourne. Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Located in abbotsford convent, it is a beautiful venue. The restaurant itself has a really good vibe complemented by the trees and park around it.

The concept is, you can eat as much as you want and pay as you feel. It is purely reliant on your generosity.

They provide training and internship for people who need a job but don't have experience, especially people from the disadvantaged group.

They serve breakfast from the menu and everything is yum.

Lunch and dinner are usually buffet. Great selection of food from lentil soup to noodles, pasta, various curries, impressive dessert and many more.

After lunch you can stroll around the convent and enjoy the greenery and beautiful architecture.

Every evening they have live music of some sort.

It is an experience to be had.

“Nice, filling and healthy”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

Lental as Anything is a great eatery in Abbotsford Convent. Very basic, you queue up grab a plate a choose from a wide selection of veggie dishes. Pumpkin, chick peas, dahl, various other non recognisable things but staff will explain. Some are pretty spicy. The place has a very multicultural vibe about it. You pay what you see fit and can sit outside an admire the nice view over the convent grounds. It can get quite busy.

“Hippy as anything”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

The convent gardens is a sweet spot for this place to be located. So chill and easy to relax. Lentil as Anything is doing all the right things at the moment. Serving great, cheap vegetarian food at a pay as you feel fair way. The restaurant and dining is well set out and very informal. If you want chilled times with heaps of young crew then this is the place to be. Very alternative but very awesome.

“Great Concept”

A really unique concept and should be supported. Only vegetarian but as a meat lover that's not necessarily a bad thing.

“A fair meal for a fair price”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

Lental as anything was a little confronting at first, as I have never been to an informal restaurant before. However after a local explained to me that the food was paid for by how much you felt was fair - I was hooked. The food is great and it is all you can eat; be warned though it is vegetarian which I don't mind but I would hate to disappoint anyone. There are a lot of curries, Nepalese food and also some creations I have never seen before. You get to eat outdoors in the Convent gardens, which is perfect while watching the sun set.
