We've been to Spicy Fish twice now and both times were very good.
Menu is very varied and dim sim and buns decent value.

The stand out dish both times was the spicy fish which I think was around $22 for a large bowl of fish which contains lots of chillies, beansprouts and some noodles I recall. If you like it spicy then try this (with rice). Great value as you get lots of fish but it packs a punch given the amount of chillies!
Given it's byo wine and there's a Vintage Cellars next door, a meal for 4 with starters of dim sum, prawn toasts and pork buns, 3 mains and rice came to under $100.
The service is good and the food comes reasonably quickly so no complaints.

Try and get a table against a wall or in the window as it's a reasonably small restaurant and you get quite a lot of traffic moving by your table otherwise.

This is the best value, best portion chinese I've tried so far in Melbourne and I recommend you book ahead or be prepared to wait a while...

Typical non fancy decor of most Chinatown outlets, this bustling hangout delivers fast Shanghai dumplings, shanghai noodle soups, stirfries and lots of dishes with delicious chilli oil. Leaves plenty in the pocket. Has bargain lunchtime specials too.

Visit here for a meal nearly every visit to Melbourne, and it never fails to disappoint. Service is quick and efficient - it's not the type of place you go to linger over a long meal, but they are friendly and polite. Food is great - the prawns and vegetables were delicious and we really enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings too.

I love sichuan food especially their fish. Came for a business lunch and the other party ordered. Surprise, surprise, he ordered 3 different fish dishes. Love them. Never tried the different variety of fish in other restaurant. Will come back to try the other dishes they have. Much cleaner restaurant than other sichuan spots.
