“Fantastic but expensive!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

My partner and I were running late for a show so we went into one of the closest restaurants from the place we stayed. If we had seen the menu before we walked in we would not have gone in but we are glad we did. The waiter greeted us warmly and was happy to cater for the rush we were in. The food was amazing and the best part was the snickers bar dessert!! The only downfall is its a bit over priced for what we got. We definitely didn't expect to pay $10 for water. It was great but too pricey.

“Excellent food and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

Despite the traffic being dreadful and making us very late (we called to say we were delayed), the staff were extremely charming and didn't turf us out at 8.30pm when we hadn't finished eating.

To our surprise there was even a rather fab kids menu, which our 9.5 year old daughter decided to order from when the anticipated rotisserie chicken wasn't on the menu. She loved the sausages and pomme frite. I ordered the duck, which was just delicious. We ordered sides of pommes frites, which were chunkier than those served in Paris, but still yummy, and also a side of beans. The beans were green and yellow, and were also chunkier than French green beans, but it is rare to get thin beans in Oz. Both were delicious. Husband had a steak which was tender and cooked perfectly to his order. Chocolate soufflé - superb. Madeline's - soooo warm and fresh and simply the best ever. The petit fours looked great if you don't want a larger dessert.

All round, lovely food. Great service, noisy convivial surroundings. Tables quite close a la Paris bistro. $240 for three for dinner, but of that I had a glass of Veuve Cliquot to calm my nerves after the horror drive, plus two glasses of red wine and a gin and tonic, so about $80 of that was wine!

“Very nice”

Fantastic meal, not really one of the best because there is so much to compete with, but really nice.
I'm actually not a massive fan of French cuisine, but this was perfectly executed.

“Cant complain about the food but service poor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

We only had mains, sides and a bottle of wine. $280 including tip for 4 people.
The ambiance is strange - trying to recreate an old french bistro in a modern building.

I dont think the maître d' smiled once. The waitress we had (I think she was french) was also very sullen and slow. They certainly did not add to the experience. Unlike most places where they very slow to fill the wine - in fact we had to ask twice.

The food however was very tasty and well cooked. I would probably go back.
