The ambience was the highlighting factor of Bistro Vue. The food was delicious! It ranged from a simple salad to a technical souffle. Vegetarian options were few, but there were enough dishes for a vegetarian like me to eat. Worth a visit!

As one of Melbourne's most highly regarded restaurants, we couldn't resist dining there whilst on our holidays. From the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted like old friends we began to get excited at the evening ahead.
The menu, by head chef Chris Bonello was a clever mix with a respectful nod to many classical French recipes often turned on their heads with a fun, modern twist. As this was a special occasion, we went for the degustation option so we could try as many dishes as possible. Each degustation is a unique menu decided by the chef on the night which is a great concept as I tried several things that I would normally pass over on an A 'La Carte menu.
Course by course we ate our way to dining heaven and for the first time ever, my wife actually managed to make it to the end of a degustation, the portion control and timing of each dish was extremely well planned so that at the end of each course you were eager for just one more mouthful. Presentation was the equivalent of food porn, there were beautiful baby and heirloom vegetables dancing around the plates hand in hand with bright and vibrant herbs and flowers.
There is one dish that I have to mention above all others, the truffle and mushroom risotto is quite easily the single best thing I have ever eaten in my life. I don't say this lightly as I realise it's a pretty bold statement but trust me, if you're ever in Melbourne, go to Bistro Vue and make sure this is one of the dishes you try, it really is that good!
Remember the name Chris Bonello, if he is producing food this good as a young chef, then it's only a matter of time before he joins the ranks of the growing list of famous names in Australia's food crazy culture. I honestly can't wait to go back to Bistro Vue on my next visit to Melbourne.

Bistro Vue is a 1 chef's hatted restaraunt an its definately earned its hat!

The atmosphere is relaxed yet sophisticated and great for a dinner with friends or a loved one!

The waiters are knowledgeable on their wines, even if they do try to upsell however we had a great bottle of wine to share with our 4 course meal!

The food is delicious and please save room for dessert or the cheese platter because both are tast-yyy!

The oysters are great!!!
The Foie Gras is greatt!!
The French Onion soup is great!!
I could list every dish we had and say its great!

Definately worth a visit!!

What a lovely intimate restaurant.
Walked in to a small french decorated setting, guy playing the piano accordion really nice atmosphere.
Seated in a nice booth style table, menu looked delicious and everything we had was thoroughly enjoyable. Three of us all had really good meals, the fourth in our party did order a wagu steak and it was a bit tough which was unfortunate.

The wait staff were very helpful and made appropriate suggestions, those of us that followed them were very impressed.

Dessert was excellent as was the wine and friendly service.

Pity there is not something like this in Sydney as we would go there more often.
