“A little peice of italy in the heart of the cbd”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Pellegrinis is an icon in melbourne. Its not because of its gastronomic meals or its excellent service, but for the atmosphere that takes you straight to rome, right down to the nonnas cooking right in front of you. No room in the main bar area, no worries, they'l make room for you in the kitchen. Food is great! Traditional pasta dishes served up within a couple of minutes. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of food. Don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but they are very experienced and attentive when needed. Excellent coffee to top it off! But remember, dont ask for "a latte", you'l just get a glass of milk.

“Nothing changes ... it's still great pasta”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

This café is pure pasta. They have great granita and coffee. We ate in the kitchen and that added to the entertainment. Pellegrini never fails!!

“Traditional and great Italian coffee and food”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

Although the food selection is small it is lovingly prepared in the small kitchen out back. I recommend eating here if on the run. Seems to be a buzz in the place late afternoons and evenings, and the coffee is some of the best in the CBD.

Not much room for romance but good for an after-show or movie coffee, or to show off one of Melbourne's very different cafes.

“Authentic Italian and superb coffee”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Always listen to the locals whenever you travel...rest assured they will tell you Pelligrinis is the place to go. In fact, our concierge at The Rialto Intercontinental told us his own Father has been going there for over 30 years.
This is truly homemade Italian and it is good!

“Still good after so many years”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

This restaurant serves great pasta and coffee without the wait like other places. Good if you just want to eat and head off. Sometimes you have to wait for a seat at lunchtime but it soon clears so be patient, the wait is worth it.
