Ducked down to Melbourne for the Cup and stayed the night. Easiest, cheapest and quickest way to the city from the airport. $37 return and buses every ten minutes makes it easy to plan your days. Great view from the top deck as well.

Used their service for a transfer from Melbourne Airport to the central business district (drop off and pick up point in the CBD is the Southern Cross Coach terminal - corner of Spencer and Lonsdale streets). Service is efficient and departures are right on time, every 10 minutes (about a 30 -40 minute trip to/from airport and bus terminal each way, depending on traffic). Very reasonable cost ($18.00 on website/$19.50 at ticket office/bus door per person/each way) in comparison to other forms of transfer (taxi $60-$70 one way)

Runs very regularly, leaves from Southern cross and great option for individual or a couple. If there are three or more of you worth check8ng whether a cab or Uber would be same cost but definitely cheaper otherwise.

Was pretty simple to figure out intuitively and is probably the most economical way to get to the city. No reason not to use again

I have used the shuttle service many times on visits to Melbourne. Service has regular departures from domestic and international terminals to Southern Cross. Then easy access to local and country train services and the Melbourne city bus service

We don't have a train to the airport down here, and even if we did, I don't think it would run as often as the Skybus does.
So If you don't want to have the hassle of getting stuck in traffic, dealing with parking times and spaces, not sure how to get to Melbourne city and back then you MUST take the Skybus.
If I'm not travelling with my partner and don't want the hassles, I just catch the Skybus from Southern Cross station to and from the airport. They also have an extra bus that picks up from STkilda and other places as well. It runs like every 20-25 mins nearly all day and night. You get off the plane, grab my bags and walk outside and the Skybus pickup is right there. Can't-miss it. I think it's like $38 return, wayyy cheaper than a cab as it has it's on bus lane, it rarely gets stuck in traffic. I just sit there and get home quicker and easier. I have a car but the cost of paying for parking is over the top so I just Skybus it nearly every time.

I was delighted by the Skybus. It was handy to my point of departure from the airport, very comfy and reasonably priced. There were seats downstairs if needed - or a lovely view from the upper deck. Free Wifi and air conditioning made the ride more enjoyable. THere was a free shuttle to the hotel but this could not be tried owing to one of Melbourne's police incidents at the time.

I travel regularly for business and I like to use public transport when I can. The skybus is a great service and never had any issues with it. However travelling from Gippsland via Vline is a BIG problem. The number of disruptions on this line is astronomical, it is beyond a joke. It is so unreliable I now have to drive to ensure I get there in a reasonable time with some from of reliability.
