It was freezing and wet outside, so the warmth of The Lincoln's dining room was welcome. It has all of the trappings of fine dining, white tablecloths and napkins, etc, and the service is good, if a little slow at times. The menu has plenty to offer, and I chose the seafood stew. It was average, and I thought, a bit over priced. The warm bread was good. I liked the look if the bar blackboard menu, and thought those prices were better for the food offered. My companion had the hapuka, and while she enjoyed it, my taste of it was rather dry. Good to see NZ wines on the by glass menu, and a good coffee to finish. Foe the cost, Melbourne has a lot more to choose from.
