“Wanted to stay longer but...”
Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

Stumbled across Society whilst waiting to go to High Tea elsewhere. Happy I did, the cocktail was divine, service was great! My friends and I will be back for a meal next time.

“Top meals at the top of Bourke Street.”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

It had been some time since we had dined here, and we really had enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the past, so I organised a surprise dinner to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. The restaurant could not have been more accomodating, arranging a table tucked away in the corner with a window front on Bourke Street, the manager personally greeting us on arrival, and making sure we were well looked after throughout our meal. Staying just around the corner at the Windsor Hotel, this was an easy walk to get to, and it is right in the centre of the theatre district, making it a great place to go before seeing a show. We were content to take our time on this occasion and just enjoy the atmosphere. Furnishing is contemorary, warm and inviting. Lighting is subdued but not dim. Even with a big group in a room off the side of the main area, it was not noisy. The staff were very prompt and attentive. The wine recommendation was spot on, from a good selection of reasonably priced reds, whites and sparkling. Cocktails and beer are also available, and there is a bar in the first part of the restaurant as well. The menu had a nice mix of "traditional" Italian items as well as some innovative dishes in both entree and mains, with plenty of seafood and vegetarian options, all very flavoursome with good use of spice.Serving sizes were generous without being too big. Prices are certainly not excessive and the deserts are well worth a look. Topping off our evening was the "special" desert made without our knowledge for us with a chocolate "Happy Anniversary" message brought out at the end of the meal. Capped off a truly memorable experience. certainly on the list to revisit soon.

“Old style but in a nice way.”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

A restaurant in the old fashioned sense and I mean it in a complimentary manner. The seating is spacious and very little noise, unlike the trendy new restaurants. The service is professional but not overbearing. The menu (Italian) is reasonably extensive and the prices are reasonable. The pasta that I had as a main course was excellent.

Reviewed June 20, 2013

this is a great little cafe, where business types conspire and liaisons are made. The food is fantastic, the service impecable.
