This is hardly the peaceful family accomodation it claims to be. The apartments are modern, spacious, and comfortable. However, trying to get a quiet nights sleep is a problem with 2 gay night clubs right next door and the music pounding through the walls til the early hours of the morning. Moved rooms to the opposite side of the estate following a horrid first night, but the move was only a marginal improvement. This something the hotel staff are clearly aware of but fail to point out to clients the potential inconvenience.

We stayed at the QP for a business trip. Overall, it was a fantastic place to stay, however the one big fault could be a deal killer.

My two co-workers and I stayed in a two bedroom apartment. It was spacious, modern, and fully equiped, with everything you could hope for (laundry, kitchenette, utensils, etc). The main bedroom even had a fairly large ensuite.

It is so close to everything. You don't need to take a car, because Woolworths and Coles are only just up the road, and there are nice little restaurants everywhere. You can even get food delivered to your door.

Anyway, on our first night, we settled in. Everything was good until 10pm, when loud music started. Apparantly there is a club around the corner on Commercial Street. The music was still going at 7am. It was so loud, it was as if it was right out the front of our apartment. That was on a Friday night. I asked one of the reception staff if it was like that, every night, and he said no. So I asked if it was just weekends, and he said yes.

So, there is VERY loud music on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays - unfortunately, those were the only days we were there. There are train tracks right across the road, but you barely hear that compared to the music. It would probably be quieter any other day of the week. The receptionist informed us on our final morning, that if we returned, we should book an apartment on the left hand side of the building (same side as reception). Alternately, you can buy earplugs at the Priceline near Woolworths/Safeway.

Apart from that, the service was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly when we kept accidentally locking ourselves out (take note, don't walk out onto the balcony without a key. If you close the door, there is no getting back in unless you can get the attention of another resident, or reception. Very embarassing!).

So to summarise, I do recommend this accommodation, its fantastic and has everything you need, but only if you are staying Monday through Thursday.
