Description: Located in the heart of Melbourne CBD and spread over two floors, The Irish Times Pub offers a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The ambience - genuine Irish style wrap-around bars, traditional dark wood interiors, cosy fireplaces, beautiful stained glass windows and rugby memorabilia's, is reminiscent of classic pubs in Ireland. A great place for a pint of Guinness with a variety of authentic Irish and Aussie pub food to relish - Steak, Stew, Beef & Guinness Pie, Parma, Sizzler, Burgers and much more. Our drinks menu offers an extensive range of beers on tap including Kilkenny, Stella and Heineken along with an array of spirits and quality wines. A stone's throw from the trendy bars and clubs of Bank Place, it's an ideal place to enjoy a few quiet drinks or a big session with mates over live music or sports on the big screen. Welcome to The Irish Times Pub - a piece of Ireland in Melbourne.

“Great craic, cosy spot”
Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

Favourite plastic paddy pub and always a safe bet for a good pint, it can be a bit dodgy and run out of pint glasses on the odd big occasion. there is warmth from the staff and its a quiet spot for a good chat with friends.

“ok for drinks, skip the food”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

With a Groupon voucher, we showed up on a Monday for lunch. The instructions on the voucher said to call to book, but since we were nearby we didn't call. The very friendly Irish lady bartender said we needed to book 24 hours in advance. Nowhere on the voucher or web site did it say that. It only says to cancel a booking, you must do so with a 24 hour notice. But since they were not busy, we were allowed to use the voucher. We ordered a bottle of rose' (the only rose' on the wine list), but they didn't have it. So we ordered a bottle of Chardonnay which was fine ($37). We then ordered the chilli prawn appetiser ($12) and fish and chips ($17). The six prawns (at $2/each) were puny and so overcooked we couldn't eat them all. The fish and chips were also overcooked, but edible. The atmosphere in the pub is really quaint - you'd think you were in Ireland. So go here for drinks, but skip the prawns and fish and chips.

“A warm and friendly irish pub in the heart of Melbourne CBD”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

I was visiting Melbourne for the first time and craving for a pint of Guinness on the wintery Friday night. The concierge highly recommended The Irish Times and must admit I wasn't disappointed. Its a nice and cozy pub with typical Irish interiors in the heart of Melbourne CBD with decent variety of food on the menu, including pizzas. Though, I had the Irish Stew and loved it. Ended up spending better part of my evening next to the fireplace enjoying the live music.

“Warm and inviting... excellent Beef n Guiness Pie... expensive beer!”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

I have eaten here a couple of times recently as it's handy to one of the hotels I stay in while I'm in Melbourne for work each week.

I am a pie connoisseur and this was one of the best I've had in a very long time. Very generous serve in a glazed pottery bowl with beautifully smooth and fluffy mashed potato topping... was very impressed.

...however, a pint of tap beer will cost at least $9.50!
