After seeing the rating of this restaurant, I thought this would be a great place to go to with a friend for dinner. In short, location was good from a parking perspective, but there isn't much else around within walking distance. The food and service was good, but it was a bit 'stuffy' and conservative for me...... I guess I was after something a bit more on trend when it comes to that side of it... Eg: coda, mo vida , etc. so - pending what you're after this place may be perfect!!! Maybe dinner with the inlaws ?!

We ate here for my birthday and had a fantastic evening. The meals ( prawn, clam, mussel pasta and lasagne) were delicious. Clearly the ingredients used were very fresh and the meals were both very tasty and well prepared. We had the cheese platter and a custard Tartlet for dessert. Also very enjoyable. The place was decorated simply but the ambiance was good. Could also not fault the service. Would highly recommend. Will return when we are next in Melbourne.

Decided to try this little restaurant out since it was rated the top restaurant in melbourne but turn out to be dissappinting n definitely not worthy of its number 1 restaurants in melbourne rating! First of all the food was quite average for a supposedly well known Italian cuisine the squid ink risotto we ordered was bland and seem like something that was defrosted from the fridge not long ago, the entree size quail was quite good. Service was quite average also waiters won't very attentive n fail to clear out our initial entree n bread plates before the main came n manner was average also! Price was quite pricey too entree n main lookong at around $60 per head l! Would say there r far better Italian restaurant in try in melbourne n definitely not worthy of its number 1 rating

I went here as a result of it's number one rating on tripadvisor and boy was it misleading. The food was AVERAGE and overpriced with nothing to show. The service terrible as they chose to ignore us. I asked for them to clear the table and they asked why - well obviously it was sitting there attracting flies. The squid ink risotto looked like it had just been defrosted from the freezer. Drinks overpriced and not great. Don't go here if u really don't have to. It's not worth the effort to come for this. Plenty of restaurants in Melbourne better in the CBD

This is a lovely, airy restaurant that doesn't overdo anything, but gets it all right. Our table of four were all very happy indeed with our food. The baccala is superb, the octopus salad looks and tastes excellent, and my veal tongue, pickles and pesto was delicious. The sciallatielli was described as delicious too. For our mains two of us had the braised goat, relying on previous reviews, and apart from the sauce which looked split, it was very good indeed. The fish of the day was completely eaten by someone who often doesn't finish a dish, so that was a good sign, and the pork belly was chosen by a pork belly expert who prides herself on her own one, but she said this was the best she had ever had. We then had the cannoli, the dark chocolate tart with gelato, and the custard tart with strawberries, the latter was truly outstanding. Drinks were served quickly from an excellent range.
This is a great place with good, good food. I'm so pleased we discovered it!
