We've read many reviews of this restaurant but did not expect to have such a delicious food & a welcoming atmosphere as you get in Lebanon. Although the restaurant is located in a quiet area in a small house, but since you step in you feel like home. We were advised to have shared plates to maximize our Lebanese dinner experience. We had hummous, lebneh, tabbouleh & kebbeh for starter & they all tested great. For main course we ordered mjaddarah, keftah & falafel Which were sooooo great. I can assure you that he keftah & falafel you try their are not the usual ones ;) Although we were full but wanted to try their dessert, so we had lebanese coffee with baglava & halawa. You shouldn't miss that!
Mrs.Abla ,the owner of the restaurant, is a very nice lady. She passed by all her customers & welcomed them as if they were her own house guests.
I went to say good bye to her before i leave & found her supervising the kitchen by herself. She insisted to invite us in her house when we get back to Melbourne.

Liked the atmosphere and the delicious food. Unpretentious. Very authentic and lots of attention to detail in the cooking. Very reasonably priced.

My first time at an Lebanese restaurant and I threw myself in at the deep end with a banquet. I'm very glad I did- an exciting and eclectic range of authentically cooked food with finely nuanced flavour (the chicken rice was especially enjoyable).

The setting was very pleasant and easy on the eye. Staff were pleasant if business like.

The time afforded for eating felt a little rushed (only two hours to expediate numbers). Whilst this is testament to the restaurant's popularity, it would have been nice to eat at a more lesiurely pace without an eye on the watch.

Recommended overall.

When we arrived at Abla's we were greeted by an almost empty restaurant (early, Monday evening) and a friendly, welcoming hostess who made us feel as though we were being invited into her home. We were sat upstairs as it was warmer (cold Melbourne evening) and handed on to another friendly, welcoming and informative waitress. With a partner excited to compare Abla's cooking to his mother's own, we ordered far too much food... yet somehow managed to consume most of it. The trio of dips, falafel and chicken skewers with garlic and tabouleh were authentic and delicious - fresh and perfectly cooked and served with the requisite generous amount of Lebanese bread.

Finishing with Turkish coffee and baklava, it was a perfect meal. Will return again and again whenever in Melbourne, Abla's is worthy of the hype.
