Eureka Skydeck affords amazing 360 degree views of Melbourne all the way out to Port Philip bay on a clear day and is, I think, a must see destination for anyone new to Melbourne. It really lets you get your bearings in the city, being able to gaze down at all the other attractions like Federation Square, Rod Laver Arena, Flinders Station, The Arts Centre and National Gallery, etc.
We were able to find a coupon for 10% discount on the price of admission in the Official Melbourne Visitor Guide Book so grab one and have a look (can be found in tourist information at Federation Square).
Eureka Skydeck also offers 'The Edge' experience which is a box made of glass (floor too) which extends out from the side of the building for an additional fee. It sounds scary, but to be honest it was not that great, certainly the views are not that much better than you would see inside the tower. Additionally there is a caged open air platform right next to the where The Edge extends out, and anyone can step out onto this platform without charge. I thought this was actually much better than the Edge. Also, cameras are not permitted within the Edge experience so if you would like a photo then you must purchase the one they take for you. I recommend skipping The Edge unless you are really keen.
All in all though, a good worthwhile visit.
