I saw their production of 'Don Quixote" and it was brilliant. The scenery and costumes were magnificent and the dancing - well, it was superb. They are a world class company and as good as any I have seen on the major stages of the world. Congratulations!

“Don Quixote - The Australian Ballet”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I attended a final dress rehearsal for The Australian Ballet's Don Quixote last night and the word 'WOW' comes to mind. The production and choreography were by Rudolf Nureyev under the artistic direction of David McAllister and the parts of Kitri (Dulcinea) and Balsilio (her paramour) were played by two brilliant young Russian dancers, Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev. It would be hard to fault any aspect of this ballet. The orchestra under the baton of Nicolette Fraillon was amazing, the sets magnificent, the costumes stunning and the ballet itself mesmerising. Every dancer danced superbly and the consensus as I left the theatre was that we had witnessed a magical ballet. This ballet has something for everyone and is well worth seeing.

“Onegin - Tchaikovsky - 'Dream time'”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

Time to step out of reality and into a tutu or tights ... well at least you can pretend. The Australian Ballet's production of Onegin at the Sydney Opera House, with Tchaikovsky's score played beautifully by the accompanying orchestra, was just delightfully whimsical and passionately played and danced by the wonderful cast. Of particular note were the incredible costumes and the stage sets which were out of this world (with the latter having been borrowed from a European company). Sydney Opera House proved a more than fitting venue for the production which was a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. A wonderful love story with a twist. The artistic, acting and dance capabilities of the ballet company were of the highest quality. A must do if you're into the arts ... a great place for little girls (and bigger/older girls) and guys alike.

“Spectacular Swan Lake”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

Flew to Melbourne just to see Swan Lake with my seven year old daughter. Seats K33 and K34 were fabulous and the production was outstanding! The costumes and stage sets were amazing, and the dancers were just wonderful! Can't recommend it highly enough!
