“Great Value given the location”

Given the location that is accessible to most main attractions, the price is considerable cheap.... The room size is also decent and exceeded my expectations. The staffs at the reception are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place for those with budget....

We stayed in a one bedroom flat and it was compact, clean, new and had everything you needed. Big flat screen TV, if you are into that sort of thing. Trams going in different directions stop just outside and the free city tram is a 5 mins walk. Victoria Market and the library are also a 5 mins walk, as well as Lygon street (lots of restaurants and cafes') and a cheap supermarket (Aldi, suggested in the hotel's guide). Shopping centres are down Swanson Street so you can do your retail therapy without having to walk too far and also cheap places where to eat. This hotel was cheaper than others in the same area and offers a great location, clean accomodation, a cafe' downstairs (it's actually part of the same hotel) and a shop next door for quick fixes. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a very clean, good value serviced apartment near the CBD of Melbourne. Large tram stop outside and 5 minute walk to Melbourne Central railway and the CBD. 10 minute walk in the opposite direction to Lygon Street, a major eat street of Melbourne and Readers Bookshop, one of the best bookshops in Melbourne.
The apartments are basic, a bit noisy and a bit worn but comfortable. The staff are excellent.

Room Tip: Higher apartments might be quieter.

The Arrow was a fine hotel, would probably stay here again.
The rooms were good and clean, with nice widescreen tv.
The beds comfortable.
It was a bit pricey I suppose and I could easy find somewhere cheaper to stay for just as much comfort.

We had a two bedroom apartment. It was a fabulous location, tram stop right outside the door, shop next door for quick fixes I.e drink or tram tickets. Only a couple of blocks from Lygon street restaurants nice wee walk very quick. Very close to town it's on swanston street a main road of town . We did have air conditioning trouble which did not get fixed during our 8 night stay it worked but it made a terrible sound we had to turn it off at the mains while we slept as it made its sound when the system was off. So totally off made it stop. Hopefully that's fixed now. The swimming pool was actually in the building next door and had to walk outside down the street (next door) to go for a swim. Was funny to see a guy in his speedo walking out onto the street! The situation to tourist attractions and town could not be sniffed at, it was great. Walked to melb gaol, museum. I would stay here again.

I agree with the recent positive reviews. My double bed studio was spacious enough for a night or two. It had a kitchenette with fridge and microwave. Tea and coffee and milk supplied. A good sized digital TV. A compact but spotlessly clean bathroom with soap and shampoo supplied. Guests have the use of the gym, sauna and outdoor lap pool in the residential building next door (which seems to be mostly occupied by university students from overseas). Professional assistance from the reception staff - checkin was friendly and efficient. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is perfectly adequate for a few nights. The combination of its location, facilities and price make it good value.

Two weeks ago I decided I wanted to take a trip down to Melbourne solo. I’m in my mid 20’s so was wanting to come down to catch up with friends, do my own thing and get out ‘n’ about! I didn’t want to spend a lot on my accom and when researching (after 1 solid night) I found that this hotel was the cheapest and seemed the most decent. I booked a ‘Standard double’ room for 4 nights. When I arrived I wasn’t disappointed. The whole room was clean; including the bathroom, comfy bed, built-in wardrobe (with large mirrors) great size flat screen TV, big windows and a tiny balcony (my room had no view however but I wasn’t there to just look out the window and sit on the balcony) and small kitchenette. HOWEVER, as my room looked out onto a small lane, some mornings i was woken by loud noises of bins and etc being wheeled around. Which wasn't such a bad thing as it got me up and out of bed!
There is a small café on the ground floor of the hotel, which was handy (that was in need of a vaccum and proper wipe down of tables).
The hotel staff were just, fine. Infact, I agree exactly with what Trade_Mark_Traveller wrote on the hotel staff.
The location was absolutely perfect. Tram stops directly out the front of hotel, 5 minute walk to QV markets, 5 minute walk round the corner to Lygon street, 20 minute walk to Gertrude/Brunswick streets Fitzroy, 25 minute walk to Bourke street mall/the heart of the city.
All in all, I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: If noise is an issue ask for a room that doesnt look out onto the back street.
