We went as corporate guests through my husband's work. Fabulous views, fabulous food. Unfortunately though, 2 years running we've had rude wait staff!!

This is the sporting venue heaven precinct with Melbourne Park which hosts the Australian Open Tennis and large stage performances, Olympic Park across Swan Street and the new Soccer Stadium a little further down - a stunning structure (worth seeing just for the architecture). Behind Melbourne Park, across the footbridge is the impressive Melbourne Cricket Ground - venue for cricket and our national game - Aussie Rules Football. Facilities are excellent at all venues but food and drink on site can be pretty pricey. There are restrictions on taking drinks into these venues but Melbourne Park have a great system whereby you can refill drink bottles at banks of water taps throughout the courts complex. Unless the MCG parking area is open, parking can be a real problem if multiple events are in session - take a tram or or train.
