I had an overnight stay at the Quest Docklands before a commitment at Etihad Stadium the next morning.

It's not a big property as far as serviced apartments go but it is very well maintained with friendly and efficient staff. The rooms are comfortable enough with a small kitchenette and generous bathroom.

It also has a really convenient doorway to the promenade level of the stadium. If you're looking for accommodation because you're attending something at Etihad, it doesn't get better than this.

Overall, it's good. The staff lift it to another level.

Dear Klkh2002,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful recommendation and review of the property.

The direct access to Etihad Stadium is amazing, being only a few seconds from the entry gates does make staying at Quest Docklands very convenient when attending football matches or conferences at the stadium.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Quest Docklands.

Happy travels!

My room was in excellent condition and was everything I wanted. It's close to the train station and many shops and restaurants and is close to a couple of nice running trails. Only downside is most of the local breakfast/lunch places are closed on weekends.

Could not be better location for Etihad events. Good facilities, and all the reception staff were terrific, more like 5 star all of them.
We found it strange we received a phone call to confirm our booking, we were asked if wanted a King size bed, which naturally we did. So it was disappointing to find a double- really not even a Queen. There were huge gaps between the bed and the fixed side tables.
I thought it odd on Check in that we had a coffee plunger, but no plunger coffee. No service the next day as it was a Public Holiday. Saturday morning we had plunger coffee. Also on check in we had no bin liner just one for a little tidy not the correct size for kitchen bin. This was also rectified on the Saturday. I cant recall the other issues- but sure we had some.
Also on Public Holidays none of the close by restaurants were open for Breakfast, as we arrived late the night before I would recommend ordering a breakfast pack from the hotel.

We booked a deal which included an upgrade to a one bedroon apartment with free wi-fi for three nights on Anzac weekend. Given the location and the standard of the suite the deal was worth the money. Being able to walk into the CBD and having good quality restaurants nearby in Docklands is a bonus.

We struck a slight glitch however with housekeeping. There was no service on Anzac day which is ok as there was advance notice. On the Saturday however housekeeping arrived at 9.45 a.m to do the service. We were not quite ready and asked the staff to give us 30 minutes. We went out for the day and returned abnout 3.15. The room had not been serviced at all ! After ringing the staff arrived pronto and did the speediest run through ever. We vacated the room for the staff to service and returned to find the amenities in the kitchen [ milk, teabags ] not replenished. A trip to thefront office solved that problem, but no apology.

At check out the young trainee wantyed to charge $80 for wi-fi used. This was solved by the front desk manager promptly with an apology about the recent implementation of comp. wi-fi. and its policy with the front office staff.

Apart from the housekeeping problem, which should not happen in such a property, the Quest Docklands is still recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side get lovely sun and overlook Etihad Stadium which is good for people watching...

Dear Rusell,

Thank you for your wonderful review and recommendation, it was great to read that you enjoyed your stay at Quest Docklands.

Our newly refurbished One Bedroom Apartments are wonderful rooms, ideal for extended stays or anyone who values space and convenience when travelling to Melbourne. Featuring a full kitchen, separate spacious open plan living and dining area that extends out to a balcony, master bedroom with king or queen bed and bathroom with private laundry facilities. If you need to get down to business, the full sized writing desk with high speed internet access will ensure you stay connected. Or if you want to simply relax the 42” HD LED TV with Foxtel, DVD player and iPod dock are sure to keep you entertained.

I agree that the location of the property is great, with the CBD only a short walk away.

Thank you for letting me know about your housekeeping experience, I have shared you feedback with our team.

Once again thanks for your recommendation, we look forward to welcoming you back to Quest Docklands!

First the positive. We opted for a one bedroom apartment. All was clean and tidy and functioned as it should. The equipment levels were adequate although the internet access has some issues (more on that below) The hotel is quite well located, backing on to the Etihad Stadium, a short walk to the Spencer street station and the city, and about a 20 minute walk to the Southbank and the exhibition centre. Parking at the hotel is limited but is available and within financial reason for a city hotel ($25 a day compared to nearby commercial parking facilities that ranged from more than $25 to $15 on an early bird deal.

And now the negative... sadly there is a level of noise intrusion that comes from the street, aircraft and doors closing in the corridor. The external noises are difficult to avoid without double glazing which you will find on new builds these days. But the door noise could have been easily avoided by the hotel with more effective damping on the door closers and cushioning where the door meets the door frame.

Internet is only complimentary for the first 30 minutes per day of use and then only for a single login. Logout and/or use your 30 minutes and you'll need to sign up for a breathtaking $5.50 for 50mb if memory serves right. Unfortunately we were not advised of the 30 minutes free when we arrived, in fact we were informed when we first asked about internet connection that it was a charged service. We only found out otherwise when we specifically asked a different employee the following day. But accessing the free 30 minutes is an annoying process of asking for a password every day at reception. Most hotels these days provide Wi-Fi free with no fuss log in. For the good will that it's worth and given the room tariff charged, I can't see why the Quest Docklands don't.

The hotel has no gym or swimming pool. But it does have an arrangement with the local YMCA to allow guests access. This is not the most convenient arrangement but the management did have the foresight to negotiate the arrangement. But we could not find the information in our room on fitness facilities and we only found about the arrangement when we asked.

Pricing was a bit optimistic against other hotels of similar standard that are more centrally located within the CBD.

Perhaps if relevant and correct information was provided on arrival (e.g. about the internet and fitness facilities), noise levels were a little lower and the pricing was less optimistic or more things were included in the tarrif (e.g. Wi-Fi, parking etc) we'd have rated the hotel as "very good". It's a tough call, but at the end of the day price does have a bearing on expectation.

Good hotel. I stayed in a studio apartment - usual Quest style and standard of room - nice little kitchenette which was very handy for a quick breakfast.
I imagine it would be extremely noisy if there was an event at Etihad Stadium - work colleagues of mine who had stayed the night before confirmed this but I was lucky that there was nothing on the night I stayed.
I was there for a work meeting which was held on site - the conference room was fine - good staff and service.
The best thing about this hotel is that guests can use the YMCA Docklands gym just a few steps away. The gym is HUGE and both times I went (1730 and 0600) it was not crowded and I could very easily use all the equipment I wanted. It has a massive spin studio and I enjoyed sole use of it during my morning visit! There is also a lap pool - heated.

Stayed one night, got a great deal on a one bedroom apartment. Great facilities, friendly staff who assisted with parking etc. We caught the train into the city (1 stop away) and then walked back. Highly recommend.
