Spent a fabulous anniversary night at the Langham, Southbank. Decided at the last minute and booked directly with the Langham and accepted a Club package. King bed, Club extras on Level 24 and so close to everything at Southbank. Food, service, cleanliness, parking, all as expected, TOP class. Breakfast standard is as good as ever. Congrats to floor team, great service. Note, if staying Club, ask service manager if any functions on the top floor. DJ base effect ripples right through top floor accommodation til after midnight. No satisfactory response from Management.

Room Tip: Old school luxury, no noise from adjoining rooms. The higher the floor the better the accommodation.

Can't fault this place at all
The hotel is five star in every way. Very attentive staff, great bar and restaurant as well as a fantastic location.
The exterior is a little more subdued than the nearby Crown, but inside is a very classy looking hotel.
Bar is a little expensive, and this is the first time I have ever seen a taste of wine up for sale (at $15 for 30ml), but a pleasant experience nonetheless.
The evening buffet is truly fantastic, and probably one of the best I have ever visited. It's a little more expensive on Friday and Saturday nights, so it's worth going on a weekday if you can.
Wifi is available everywhere at a very reasonable price - $5 per device for 24 hours. Connection seems pretty quick and reliable.
There's a gym, pool and spa on the 9th floor. The gym gets a bit busy on weekday mornings, but fine at any other time.
Would definitely recommend this place.

This hotel is a wonderful hotel. The breakfast buffet was amazing--bountiful and delicious. The hotel rooms are quite lovely as well. The hotel is in a perfect location. It is adjacent to the Southbank foot bridge that leads across the river and into the Flinders Street train station. To the left , just outside the train station, is the stop for the free hop on/hop off streetcar. If you turn to the right after coming out of the train station you should walk a few short blocks to get to the DeGraves Street area. DeGraves Street is a very small lane filled with restaurants, outdoor eateries, wall paintings, a few small shops, and leads into a mall with more shops etc. This is a fun, casual area to explore. Also, if you cross the bridge but don't go into the train station, follow the walkway to the right (along the river) and you will eventually find some fun indoor/outdoor casual restaurants to enjoy for a drink or a meal---mostly locals but a great spot to watch the river boats, kayakers and crew teams practice.

Booked a 3 night club floor river-view room- going rate around 430 AUD a night-the rooms are nicely furnished -can't open any windows so you have to breath in the recycled air from the noisy A/C unit-view is pretty good!Best from the corner units for 500Aud plus a night!
Beware of the adjoining rooms -which are connecting the corner river view rooms and the single river view rooms !!!! like 2309-2307 or 2308-2306
We found it out the hard way how bad they are...
On the second night of our stay we could hear the people next door via the interior doors laughing and watching tv loudly after 11 pm but worst thing happened with the next lot who moved in on Friday afternoon
There must have been at least 20 people some sort of celebration happening -loud screams and party at 1 am in the morning we let it go for 20 minutes hoping it will be over -but it didn't so had to call security to fix the issue which they did-well as you can imagine the night was ruined
Also had some serious issues with this hotel sound proofing-which is non existing-the constant banging of the entrance doors and the worst part is that they have similar mechanism on the toilet doors internally so whenever your neighbor bangs the door its like a loud tremor through the walls
so it was like sleeping on a construction site instead of a quiet room.
Another major issue here is the bathroom facilities-the shower had is an old style swan neck like horrible fixed crap-which squirting lame water all over your head -cannot adjust anything on it-the bathtub is an old outdated simple
tub-when a hotel puts so much emphasis on the "spa feature' providing high end products in the bathroom yet the facilities are non existing-one just wonders what's behind this??
The only positive I can comment on this hotel is the club floor eating area-very good deluxe breakfast ,afternoon tea-and pre-dinner drinks with first class drinks and canapes.
I know it's not the fault of the hotel that some people cannot behave and ruining your stay for good-yet the management should pay more attention to soundproof those adjoining rooms -after all when you spend over 500 dollar a room which I was paying initially by agoda-one have a certain expectation for the allegedly second best hotel in Australia.-Also a big warning here!
I booked this hotel with Agoda hoping to get a good rate-as it turned out they charged more than 110 dollars more a night than the hotel website-so be careful when you book-shop around to get the best deal-have to admit that Agoda reimbursed the difference after a correspondence with them as they have the best price guarantee policy..

So to sum up- if you have low tolerance for noise -go somewhere else-as this is a really noisy place.

Room Tip: avoid adjoining room with interior door request one without it-also if you are on the odd number rooms like 7-9 etc you get the full blast of the morning sun-if you are sensitive of very strong light in the morning
