Visit the hopetoun tea rooms. This arcade exemplifies old school Melbourne at its best. Sensational architecture.

Located in between two taller buildings, you might missed block arcade. It’s an heritage building with lots of nice shops inside. Do try Hopetoun Tea Room for their breakfast and tasty cakes. Love their cheese cake and fruit cakes.

Nothing special here but an old historical building. Stores were expensive and limited items. Do not shop here

You have to visit and appreciate the beauty of the architecture and interiors of this arcade. Browse and window shop the lovely shops.

And if you have time, book yourself a table for morning or afternoon tea or lunch at the Hopetoun Tearooms; an instituition for some country and city folk looking for a lovely spot to enjoy a cuppa.

Has Christmas decorations out at the moment.
A very pretty display in a historic building with little shops.
Not really a destination but a nice place to wander through.

Usually cut through here when returning to Flinders Street Station. Always a pleasure with its beautiful architecture and intersting shops.

A quick visit to Barbarella Cafe in the Block Arcade for a good coffee & a superb tomato, cheese & smoked bacon croissant (tables around the back) has me fueled up for a pleasant cruise around the many lovely shops in this beautiful mosaic laden arcade. A must see visit on any trip to Victoria's capital city. Haigh's Chocolates, Hopetoun Tea Rooms, Gewurzhaus herbs & spice merchants, Beechworth Sweet Co & Beechworth Honey shops, The Alpaca Collection, jewellers, homewares, shoes, menswear ... all this and more!

An essential Melbourne experience.

The cake shops window display is beautiful and priceless .

The glass sculpture shop has gorgeous pieces.

At the end of the Block leads into one of those classic Melbourne lanes, which is lined with cafes and great little restaurants
