“What a treat...”
Reviewed July 26, 2010

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights...What can we say...? It was great!!! Soooo relaxing...Our king room was on 20th floor with a million dollar view over the bay and the city...Room was big, bright ( ceiling to floor window ), quiet, elegant and cozy. And everything was sooo clean - spotless! Bed was heavenly, so comfortable, nice white linen and beautiful soft pillows. Bath robes and slippers are also provided for your comfort. TV is big and modern, with plenty of channels to choose. There is also a desk, couple of very comfortable chairs, another small table and a nice sitting area next to the window from where you can enjoy the view. Bathroom has a huge shower, all the little luxuries ( shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel, plenty of soap, cotton buds/ cotton wool, mending kit, shoe shine, sanitary bags, tissues and so on ). Plenty of nice soft towels and face washers...You also get a complimentary newspaper in the morning and you can choose between Herald Sun and The Age. Room service was great and so was the reception staff and everybody else. Buffet breakfast is great, lots of good quality food, lots of variety in a nice contemporary dining room. We would recommend this hotel to everybody who wants to relax , be spoiled and enjoy themselves. We stayed here a few times before and we always love coming back!

Having stayed at various 4-5* hotels in Melbourne over the past 12 months on business, Crown Promenade is definitely the best. The rooms are large, quiet, spotlessly clean, have an enormous bathroom, towelling robes and slippers, the best beds and pillows, all adding up to a good night's sleep and enjoyable stay. Staff at Crown Promenade have a "can do" attitude and nothing is a problem. Location is great. Across an internal walkover to the Crown Casino complex with a choice of eateries, all moderately priced, or take a walk along the Yarra River to all the restaurants and bistro's along Southbank. Alternatively, their room service menu is keenly priced (e.g. $15 for lasagne and salad, served with hot bread rolls and butter). This hotel is ideal for business or leisure with a pool, sauna and gym. Best of all is the room rate - it certainly doesn't break the bank and is great value for a CBD hotel.

My first stay at the Crown Promenade was of total dissapointment , starting with the decor and the state of the room. Staines on the curtains and only what could be a vomit stain in the main carpet area.To add insult i am still yet to be contacted and recieve an explanation ,when i have requested one.
I will never stay in the Promenade ever again.

Yes, its def not Towers, and doesnt have the fresh and modern lines of Metropol, but Promenade still do an OK job for a hotel within a casino complex.

After using the conference centre for business (outstanding facilities and service by their staff) I checked in to the Corner Studio room (one day from the suite)
Nice size room and sep walk in bathroom (shower only) as well as a small lounge area near the huge bay windows.

Linen is fresh and clean, everything tidy..but signs of wear and tear of the furniture, walls, desk etc.

Room service was more expensive! than the other 2 Crown Hotels and the quality definitley not as good.

Housekeeping were efficient and prompt at all times.

Longer walk to the Casino itself than the other 2, and the Promenade does attract a different clientelle to Towers completely.

Lifts were quick and usually empty. Good hotel security at night.

Not as many toiletries as the other 2 hotels (no toothbrush or razor and the shampoo.condition is a very cheap standard)
No turn down service but ice available on every floor from a dispenser.

Service at front desk, SLOW and incredibly rude and arrogant duty manager who just sat there playing on the internet while the staff tried to cope and he walked away from problems people were having (quite a few complaints)

No day spa, but both Towers and Metropol have one. Does have a small swimming pool.

Slow to get car from Valet and so full that taxis couldnt drive in to their driveway.

No Free Wifi, cost $22 for 24 hours access and service was quite slow.

If you get a cheap rate, book a Studio or a Suite...the base rooms here are just too small and getting older (by crown standards)

Rooms: Room was spacious, modern and clean. It had an AV panel so you could plug your laptop/phone in and play your media files through the flat screen tv. Room also had great soundproofing and the beds were really comfortable. Bathroom had great amenities and was spotlessly clean.

Service: Check in and check out was fast, efficient and friendly. Valet parked and returned the car quickly and with no damage. Room service arrived quickly and was always delicious despite the fact the servers never smiled no matter how much you tipped them.

Value: I got a Wotif.com deal which made the hotel great value but if you can't get one of these it's still worth the money for the standard of hotel you get.

Location: Hotel is located in the Crown Entertainment Complex so everything you need is linked to the hotel via a footbridge. It's also close to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the Aquarium and a 5 minute tram or taxi ride to the city.

I'd definitely stay here again next chance i get.

We visited the Crown Promenade whilst visiting Melbourne and found it a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
I am a person that looks at every possible option for price and standard when researching accommodation and holidays and the CP has been the best value for us so far.
It's a great modern looking hotel right on Southbank in Melbourne with nightlife, resturants and activities right at your doorstep.
The rooms are fabulous. Comfortable and quiet with great room service.
Although I am an Accor member for many years, I will be returning to the CP whenever I stay in Melbourne.
Thanks.

This hotel is conveniently located at the south bank of Melbourne. There are many routes that allow you to go to the central business district on foot. The hotel is connected to the Crown complex via an enclosed bridge to the Crown casino. Since I spend most of my time attending a conference in the Exhibition & Confrence Centre everywhere seems to be within walking distance. The hotel staffs are quite friendly. The room is sufficiently big with all the required facilities. The only weird thing is that the TV somehow turns itself on automatically after it has been turned off. I just have to switch it off at the main. The bed is a bit too soft for me. There are many restaurants managed by the Crown in the complex. However, many of them have exactly the same menu. The food in the casino is the cheapest. It's really nice staying here.
