Modern enough, very comfortable with a whopping great 'new' plasma TV (like you have time to watch it - but if you're a room dweller, it's awesome).
Loved everything about the venue and being attached to the Crown Complex has it's obvious advantages.
One thing lacking (and this is the 2nd review this week where I was disappointed with facilities).

The gym couldn't be called that. Bikes, running machines etc. but no heart rate monitors built in, which is quite common these days and absolutely no free weight apparatus anywhere. I was really looking forward to burning some kj's, but the exercise bike was useless (due to no heart rate monitor), so had so settle for a running machine (yes I'd run a trail/track with real scenery).

Gym is a knitpick, because it's important to me and I've experienced some fantastic gym's in hotels/ resorts of similar calibre as this one.

Definitely a big recommend & take the gym critique with a pinch of salt (unless it matters to you).

The pool looked beautiful, but the view nowhere near as good as it's sister 'Metropol'.

Room Tip: Pay for it I would imagine. Ours was stock standard, but served it's purpose. Near the elevato...

Thanks for the very detailed response on your recent stay at Crown Promenade Melbourne. It was pleasing to read you found the room to be “modern and very comfortable” and we receive a number of positive comments about the convenience of being located in an integrated resort which has a number of entertainment and dining options. I'm sorry to read your experience at the gym was not up to your expectations and your comments will be taken on board when we next upgrade the equipment. There is a “free weights” room which is located in a separate room from where the cardio equipment is located and I apologise if this wasn't explained to you.

Thanks again for the feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Stayed here again for a couple of nights with my husband, on a work trip. We upgraded to a corner room, on the 20th floor, which seemed to only be the view that changed. Beds are comfortable, pillows are the best at Crown for sure, linen changed everyday, towels fluffy and thick. The location is great, within walking distance to restaurants, shops and just over the river from the cbd, we really enjoyed this stay. I found it a challenge to try to use the room phone to call reception, and found it easier to just jump in the lift and go down. The breakfast menu is very average, but would advise to go for a walk and find a better spot to eat. On the first day our room was not serviced until around 4pm, which seemed odd as we had been out all day and then had to prove we were the occupants of the room before entering, it was a security thing of course, just felt strange. The only thing that I found annoying was the water hammer from the pipes when our neighbors turned on the water, then ours did it too. Overall, a great place to stay in Melbourne, just needs some attention.

Room Tip: A corner room facing the Yarra is the best value, nice city views.

We have stayed clear of this Crown option from past experiences ..preferring Towers and Metropol
Deciding not to stay if Promanade was available
As I said the feel of the place much better
Pool deck was very pleasent
Room was good BUT in the night the air conditioning become a HEATER and we could NOT cool the room down which made our sleeping time rather uncomfortable

Room Tip: Just a great location

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience from your recent stay at the Crown Promenade Melbourne. Whilst it was encouraging to read that your stay was “much better” from previous stays I was concerned to read the issues with the air conditioning unit in your room. Hopefully we were advised as we have a 24hr maintenance personal who are able to attend and rectify these types of malfunctions. I hope it didn't detract too much from the rest of your stay and please accept my apology for any inconvenience caused.

Stayed 2 nights at Crown Promenade over the weekend for a work conference.
The rooms were big (even with 2 queen beds) and very clean. The bathroom was nice with a huge shower! The beds were comfy and I loved that u pressed a button by the door for do not disturb or make up my room, also the rooms had door bells which was cool.
Ask for a room on a high level. We were on level 22 facing the city so had an amazing view of the city and river.
The hotel is apart of the crown complex so you don't ever have to leave if u want dinner, drinks, movies, clubs etc. it's a short walk into the city which is convenient!
The conference and dinner we had in the ball rooms were set out fantastically and the staff were amazing- I never once had to ask for a drink and the food was great!
Would definitely recommend the Crown Promenade !

Based here for the Lions tour, the hotel certainly added to the experience (shame about the test result!). Rooms were spacious and a very friendly and professional team of people supported the infrastructure. Good location for getting to all the main attractions and the breakfast buffet was everything you would expect from a hotel of this quality - enough variety and quantity to enable you to 'fuel up' for the day if you wanted to avoid a mid-day meal. Bar prices are not out of line with those in the City - which is an expensive place to eat & drink - but trhis goes for Australia generally.
Would I use it again if I go back to Melbourne? - it would certainly be the first place I'd check out to stay - but it's not cheap, so not for those on a budget.

Thanks for the wonderful review, your positive comments will be passed onto our team who will be very happy knowing you had an enjoyable stay with us. Your comments in relation to breakfast will be passed onto the F&B team – we believe that for the price and variety on offer (including a chef to cook eggs anyway you like) it is very competitive with other similar hotels in Melbourne. The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk into the CBD and surrounded by trams, buses and train stations very conveniently located nearby.

Hopefully we may see you again in the near future.

Many Thanks

Have stayed here previously but standards have slipped. Reception staff were unfriendly as were staff in the restaurant for breakfast. Dont bother with the $29 for breakfast very average and coffee was cold. Just found the whole experience very average this time around

The quality of the room and the view on the 22nd floor fantastic. It was clean but a little too clinical for my liking. The staff were business like, but overall I had the impression that all the hotel wanted was my wallet. No free wi fi when the prices are premium anyway. Wi Fi was not even available in the lobby.
It was a cold and unwelcoming hotel. Yes the standard of accomodation, and pool facilities was very good but you do need to have that human touch. The concierges were all really helpful but I felt that we had to take the initiative. The breakfast staff seemed to be a mix of good chatty blokes to young girls who couldn't speak good english and who wanted to clear up too quickly.
Would I go here again, no sorry, it's too business like.

Room Tip: Go for the higher room and get a spectacular view.

We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your recent stay at the Crown Promenade Melbourne. We were happy to read you found the standard of accommodation and pool facilities were “very good”, however disappointed to read you thought the service “clinical”. We will certainly share your feedback with our staff and as you can read by the other comments this is certainly not characteristic of our hotel and we’re sorry that was your perception.
