Spent a night at The Crown Promenade. Great location to city attractions. Cosy and depending on the room great views. Our room was on the 12th floor facing the Crown Main entrance. The Melbourne Casino complex would have to be one one of the best in Australia. A little pricey for the night but every now and then its nice to spoil yourself and your partner with a treat. Overall a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: High Floors are always good but it depends on the individual

Big dimensions on everything, with enormeous bathroom. All walls are crystal with lot of natural light, if you wish. Ask for a room as high as possible Some with very good view even at some distance from the bay. Modern, perfectly clean, very nice service. Excellent. Against: only that the breaksfast was ridicoulusly expensive, 40 $ per person.

As a travel agent this is my lifestyle.... high end properties, good food and casinos!
Was a little reluctant even going to Melbourne, I hadn’t been there for probably 25yrs but wow…. what a weekend to remember!

I had a king corner room, high up and some fantastic city building views…room was a reasonable size with full length windows, great TV, mini bar well stocked and the bathroom was spacious and being up high in the building the lifts always happened to be not far off which was surprising.

Great service and restaurants within the Promenade building however, a 5 minute walk through come corridors you enter the Crown Casino…. Now coming from Perth and comparing the casino in WA to Melbourne our casino looks like a backyard organisation, massive, heaps to do, places to drink, entertainment and offcourse there’s gaming….. gaming here, gaming there and around the corner!

I highly rate this property and will be returning again in the near future!

Room Tip: King Corner room do not come as a twin, after negotation I managed to get a rollaway in the room for...

During the past eight years we've visited the Crown on several ocassions, unfortunately this visit didn't meet our expectations.

We choose the Crown for its location. Situated in Southbank you are in easy reach of multiple fine dining restaurants, bars, casino and shops.

Check-in - fast an efficient. The staff were accommodating in assigning a room on the top floor. The views are really nice from the higher floors - so make a request if you enjoy a good view.

Rooms - the rooms are fairly small and compact. The beds are really comfortable. Suitable for a short stay.

Bathroom - fairly basic, no bath however very clean. The bathroom doesn't have an extractor fan, I found this frustrating as the mirror fogged up whenever we showered.

Cons.

Odour - our roomed wasn't very fresh - we ended up needing a humidifier to sort out the odour.

On the second night our linen was stained with blood - we called housekeeping and within ten minutes a duty manager and housekeeping attended. We were very unimpressed - this is certainly unacceptable for a five star hotel. The duty maager explained the laundry is done offsite - whilst I accepted this explanation it didn't explain why the housemaid had made the bed up with stained sheets (the stain was almost at pillow level so fairly visible. The bed was remaid promptly and we were offered complimentary breakfast. Whilst we appreciated the thought - we'd have preferred not to have experienced stained sheets.

Lift - we along with other guests had issues with our keycard. During our four day stay we needed to have the keycard re programmed on four occasssions. Again frustrating as we kept the keycard in the pouch provided.

Staff - we found the staff to be extremely helpfull or terrible. The conceirge desk were uninterested in assisting with luggage. They also seemed disinterested in providing directions or recommending attractions.

Reception staff - the lady who checked us in was very nice and help, sadly I can't say the same for the other staff we dealt with.

Overall a fairly average experience - based on this experience I wouldn't return or recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Request a high floor

Stayed here for 3 nights in May. We booked and paid online a couple of months in advance so got a good discount. On the first night we were babysitting our two grandchildren aged 3 and 6. The good news was they stayed for free as long as they used the existing beds. This was no problem as we had a standard twin which had two double beds. The room was spacious, very clean and tastefully furnished. The bathroom had a huge walk-in shower and plenty of towels. The floor to ceiling window had a chaise longue for taking in the city view, especially impressive at night. Thought wifi expensive at $25 for 24 hours. The pool was lovely again with great city views after dark. Breakfast was no more than average on two mornings but on the third we ate a bit later ( but still well within service) there was hardly any bread left just the crusts really and only little stumps of cheese disappointing as we only wanted the continental option! Would stay again great location very quiet lovely room very pleasant reception staff but would definitely eat out.

Room Tip: Found the standard room more than adequate for a short city break

Thanks for the wonderful review.

It was great to read you enjoyed your room, we receive a lot of positive feedback about the convenience of our twin rooms which have two queen beds, and the chaise lounge next to the window is perfect for relaxing and taking in the views. Our reception team will appreciate your positive comments as they take pride in ensuring our guests enjoy their stay.

The comments in relation to your breakfast experience will be shared with the F&B Manager. As the buffet is normally replenished frequently it was disappointing to read on this occasion that was not the case.

Kind regards,

Greg Moore

We stayed here for four nights as the last leg of our Melbourne holiday and absolutely loved it!
The staff were so friendly and helpful especially the valet parking guys.
The rooms were perfect, so clean and cosy and as we were on the 18th floor the view was amazing.
Everything is within walking distance so the location for us was really really good. The Crown really know how to treat their guests and we were so impressed!
We will definitely be returning to stay here.
