I think the City Circle tram is a fantastic idea as not only does it allow for tourists to experience Melbourne's trams but it also goes around to most, if not all, of the city attractions. You have the option of hopping on and off at whichever stop pleases you. Stop at one attraction, do your thing, hop back on to another!

As others have mentioned, it is crowded but I managed to grab a seat which made it all slightly more enjoyable.

Thank Julie L

Melbourne is pretty well known for having this weird bus-train hybrid called a tram ! If you are a tourist then a tour of Melbourne while on a tram seems very appropriate. It's not exactly a special experience, while some of the older trams are interesting from the exterior all trams are pretty dull and they are basically just a method of public transportation just like an other. It's not exactly a tourist attraction and there not really meant to be although some trams have a recording explaining the various areas to tourists which is great if your are touring Melbourne.

If your a Melbourne resident then I am sure you despise these thing by now !

This is a wonderful way to circle the city listening to a guided commentary on interesting places and things along the way. Very relaxing to do after a busy day shopping!

Sometimes the trams were crowded and sometimes they weren't and yep the locals use it to get around but hey it was good to go around and look at the different sites of Melbourne and then pick out the ones you wanted to go and investigate in detail. To do a circle it took a little over an hour and I found the ambassadors very helpful, and we only had to wait 12mins. It is not suitable for elderly people who find it hard to climb up or people with pushchairs.

For a city tour take the Free city circle tram departing just a five minute walk from hotel. There is also a bus that does the tours too. 5 minute walk from the Crown Towers
