Being a vegetarian, I eat at the various Lord of the Fries regularly. I find that the Fitzroy Lord of the Fries is the best of the franchises. Burgers, fries, hotdogs and onion rings in vegetarian options are their speciality. They also have vegan options. The first time I ever took my sons, I did not tell them they were vegetarian burgers as they are not vegetarian like me. They did not believe me that they had just eaten vegetarian burgers, they truly believed that they had meat burgers.
The Fitzroy store has booths and tables and just a wonderful ambience compared to the other stores. Food is always fresh and the staff always friendly.

We visited the Brunswick St, Fitzroy store.

The potato fries were soggy and consisted of what looked like the "bottom of the barrel" scraps of potato. (Maybe they are meant to be smaller because they were from organic potatoes but they just looked awful.)

The sweet potato fries were also soggy. But added to this, was the fact that they also tasted burnt on the outside. Being more sugary, sweet potatoes do burn more easily but given that this franchise is meant to be a vegetarian speciality store, we expected that they would control cooking temperature and time better so that the fries were not burnt at all!!!!

The size of serve for the price was definitely not worth it. Everyone would be better off going to the local fish and chip shop for better, crispier fries at half the price.

We were surprise that the name of this restaurant suggests that they probably serve excellent quality French fries - not the case at all

We waited for our three batches of fries and were incredibly dissapointed in the end result - soggy and oily -- maybe they do nice burgers or hot dogs.... But certainly avoid the fries

I dropped by this Lord of the Fries for a sit down quick lunch and was very disappointed. I had the Big Burger Deal and selected the veggie burger that truly was tasteless and was a grey insipid texture. The fries cut from whole potatoes, which should have been the standout, consisted of many broken chips and was a greasy mess. The vietnamese Classic sauce was fairly tasteless. The diet coke at least was nicely chilled.

Good alternative to the traditional fast food places.
Extensive combinations can make ordering a slow process if not used to the procedure, am sure if visited more I'd get to know the menu better.
Only thing to let them down a touch was the staff more interested in talking amongst themselves than looking after customers, although they were friendly when interacting.
Tasty combinations of sauces, burgers, types of fries (thin cut, wedges, etc).
Good value for what you get too.
