Description: Restaurant & Bar Dansk is hidden away on the top floor of Denmark House in the heart of the legal precinct, accessible via the lift at 428 Little Bourke St. The seasonal menu is created by Danish executive chef Bente Grysbaek whose culinary inspiration comes from her time as sous chef in some of Copenhagen's most famous Michelin Star restaurants and neither the food, interior design or atmosphere at Dansk will disappoint even the most hardcore danophile, scandinavian design lover or food connoisseur - in fact arriving at Dansk is akin to a "beam-me-up-Scotty" experience having left ground floor Most-Liveable-City of Melbourne and arriving in inner City-of-Cool Copenhagen in a short ride to the 3rd floor. No passport required on this journey, but bring your English-Danish Travellers dictionary and prepare for an authentic bite sized taste of what makes Copenhagen the culinary capital of Scandinavia and Denmark home to the happiest people in the world.

We were 4 Danes having lunch, far from home, but this was as good as it gets.
Clean modern furniture, fantastic atmosphere, excellent Danish food with a large selection of Scandinavian beer and alcohol.
Service very friendly and professional. kitchen clean and well equipped.
We asked for a Danish speciality, we normally eat in Denmark, "Stjerneskud" and the chef made it an experience, at least as good as what we get at home.
We will definitely come back

We had dinner here with 8. The large booking was no problem and the space was wonderful. Think birch wood and open plan - you understand where ikea get it from! The food was varied and typically Danish. The menu is not an Danish inspired menu, it is completely Danish. We had share platters to start with pickled fish and meats. For mains were a combination of open sandwiches (not at all like English fare) and more traditional meat and vegetables. Desert was limited in choice but once again tasty. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.

Would go back again? Absolutely .

A friend of mine said recently I walked past Denmark House, strange place to locate such a house, ah well said I, a Dane, its not just a house, but a the home of the Danish Club and more importantly the home of an excellent restaurant & bar named Dansk or Danish! Come along and try......but I am not a Dane nor a member, no worries was my reply, its open to non-members, but membership does have its advantages! Located in the heart of Melbourne city on Little Bourke Street, Denmark House is home on the 3rd floor to a modern and very sleek looking restaurant with a intimate bar looking over the city. Its classic Danish design with light wood, glass walls and open space. The designers have created a great little space with food and service to match. Its very Danish.......the food, but most of the guests are locals who have found this little gem and seem to love the place.......a friend......from the legal fraternity was thrilled to have joined up a club that is not so stuffy, but simply serves up great food and a few very nice bottles of wines to match at excellent value. The Danish open sandwich concept is an ideal way to share and try out the various styles, from the traditional herring to roast pork on homemade dark rye bread, desserts were very yummy, light and tasty and even slightly healthy.........coffee was served in a plunger style, so you got to taste the coffee, but of course one chap had to try out the espresso and seemed pleased! A nice touch was the photography from members who have been "home" and taken pictures that is projected up on a wall, giving the diners a view of Copenhagen from various aspects.......it does indeed look like a wonderful place.....yes Copenhagen that is, but as is Dansk and worth a try.......my friend ended up joining once he saw the value I received.......
