I stayed here for one night on what is my first trip to Australia. It was booked based on cost and location near the sea and it is only a 15 minute walk to the beach.
The room was ok for the one night although it is basic. This hotel is a bit strange as it is really two hotels, the Mercure and a Pullman which share the same facilities so although the room was cheap there is a nice pool and small gym.
The restaurant was good for breakfast but I didn't eat there in the evening. I did have a beer at the bar and the barman Andy was great.
The main issue I had was the extra costs everywhere. Internet wasn't free, there was no bottled water free in the room. You could have a bottle but it was $10. I just came away feeling the price had been set low but the cost made up elsewhere.
