“Great cinemas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

Kino is my favourite cinema complex in Melbourne. They screen a good range of movies, seats are large and comfortable, premises are licensed and clientele mature.

If you join the Palace Movie club you can save some money on the ticket prices.

“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

It has been a couple of years since we have gone to these cinemas. We use to enjoy coming here, before we had cinemas close to where we live. Wanted to see a certain film, so we thought why not go. It was a mistake. The limited number of staff look like they are overworked, and rude.
The price that we paid for two glasses of very ordinary Chardonnay was $11 each. Not good enough. You also have to seat yourselves and we were not told this, so of course all the better seats were taken, while we waited outside. Not client focused or user friendly. Sorry, won't come here again.

“Some are a little tired but still good”

Often more affordably priced than the major cinemas, the Kinos are well located and well worth visiting.

“Hidden gem.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

Went on a Monday night (cheap $7 tickets) A maze of little cinemas next to a food eatery so we took in some sushi with wine from the bar. A bit hard to find get a map of CBD.

“Little gem of a theatre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

After a hard day sightseeing in Melbourne I wanted a restful night, so discovered this little gem of a theatre at the Parisian end of Collins Street. They offer a variety of films from: various festivals (Flickerfest was on when I was in town); first run movies (I opted for "Lincoln"); and foreign movie classics ("Amour"). They are part of the Palace Cinema franchise. So for Sydney-siders if you enjoy the Dendy or Palace theatres you'll be thrilled to find this Kino. Like the rest of the group they provide a fully licensed wine and expresso bar. The prices are reasonable, the seats ultra comfortable and the offerings diverse. My only (minor) complaint was that I could not find a lift access from Collins Street down to the theatre - I either had to take stairs up to take an escalator down, or stairs down which is only a problem for someone with my mobility issues.
