“Excellent introduction to Melbourne - even in the rain!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

Yesterday I joined the the 'I'm free walking tour' around Melbourne with guide Alex, the weather was not on our side but we all still had a great tour and our guide made it enjoyable despite the conditions! We explored all sides if the citupy's heritage, culture, entertainment and infamous history on our tour, finishing up with beautiful views and photo opportunities of the Mekbourne skyline. I encourage anyone new to the city or even people from the city who wish to learn more to take time out for one of these tours, I have done the tours in both Sydney and Melbourne now and would definitely do another if offered in another location.

“Do this as soon as you arrive in Melbourne!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

Go on this walking tour as soon as you arrive in Melbourne and you will have invaluable information to guide and inspire the rest of your time in Melbourne. I have been to Melbourne before and didn't really 'get' the city, which I found a lot less accessible and charming than Sydney. Going on this tour with Ben completely changed my perception of Melbourne, and helped me access all the hidden sides of the city that are not easy to find by yourself. Highly recommended.

“Fantastic tour!”

We did this tour at the end of September and had Daniel as our your guide. He was knowledgable and witty and paced the tour really well. It's a very informative tour but also includes some of the hidden gems that you wouldn't necessarily get to see on a larger commercial tour and this definitely shows the local touch.
I would definitely recommend this tour, make sure you do it near the beginning of your stay as we wanted to do lots of things after we'd finished!!!
Thank you Daniel!

“Just like Sydney”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

We had previously done both the City tour and The Rocks tour in Sydney. We gave that 5 stars too.
On that basis, when we reached Melbourne some weeks later, we made a point of seeking out the Melbourne version. We were not disappointed. Our guide was a pleasant young lady who told us before we started what the deal was, plus the fact that this was her first unaccompanied tour.
She was excellent. The tour was immensely interesting and covered so many interesting aspects of the city. Not the least of which, was when we came across a photographer and female model attempting to take some rather explicit pictures in a back street, just a stones throw from Federal Square. Suffice to say, it was an amusing interlude. They seemed determined to get their pictures while all the blokes in our party were equally interested in getting a decent view of proceedings. To the regret of some of our group, the photographer and model admitted defeat and gave up. In any case a good time was had by all.
Regrettably, this interlude will probably not always be included in the tour, but we enjoyed it immensely.
Please don't be mean. Although the tour is free, it is not unreasonable to give a reasonable tip. If you go on a similar commercial walking tour, it will cost significantly more than what would be deemed a reasonable tip for this one.
Go for it. You will not be disappointed.
