“Great stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

Just stayed at Pegasus for a few nights with my fiance. The place is very modern and I felt that they put thought into some little details that other hotels sometimes neglect (pool toys for the kids at the pool, an abundance of towels available for the gym / pool. ample supply of well thought out toiletries in the bathrooms). Pool and gym were great, we used them a lot. We were upgraded from a studio to a 2 bedroom on arrival which was nice. Rooms were clean and well thought out in design. Was very quiet, even with construction nearby, couldn't complain about the sleep quality. We also used the parking, which could not have been easier. Location was great, short walk to Melb Central Coles and we also walked to Chinatown for dinner. Overall a fantastic stay, we will certainly be back.

I stayed with family (4 adults 1 infant) for five days. Good stay overall. The facilities were modern, location was central, staff were very helpful. QV Markets, car hire pick up locations, tram stops, shopping centres were round the corner. Airport shuttle bus drops you at the hotel so all very convenient. The only downside was that we felt a bit cramped as the 2 Br Appt is still small if you are travelling with a kid.

Stayed early March 2014 and again at the end of the month before returning home to Scotland. Very clean well appointed apartments, with kitchen area equipped with hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. We got a free upgrade for our first few nights and an early check-in, which was very welcome after a long flight. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful, we had a problem with our wi-fi connection which was sorted out very quickly. The Pegasus is very central, with trams/trains/buses all within easy reach. We arrived on the Skybus from the airport and were pleasantly surprised to have a free hotel shuttle bus from Southern Cross station. Apart-hotels suited us well, we stayed in a few on our adventure in Oz, it makes for a more flexible approach, with not having to be downstairs for breakfast at a specific time, being able to cook meals/snacks in your room, etc. the swimming pool was good and the gym well equipped. We booked a couple of trips with Wildlife Tours which very conveniently had a pick up point just across the street. Unfortunately we had some bad news from home and had to cut our holiday short - Jacob, the manager, and the duty staff were extremely helpful to us with changing our bookings etc.(this was in the middle of the night), we really did appreciate their help and sensitivity to our situation. The Pegasus seems to cater for everyone, whether on holiday or business trips, it all seems to work effortlessly. (I know it doesn't really, there's a lot of hard work involved, having worked in hotels in my youth). The restaurant was a few weeks away from opening while we were there, so I can't comment on that, but I'm sure it will be a success. We couldn't find fault with the Pegasus and would certainly stay there again should we be so lucky to travel back to Melbourne.

Just finished staying at the Pegasus between 18-21 April 2014. Overall, a great stay. From the moment we arrived and met Chris on reception, all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we slept well and had a good stay. Beds very comfortable and I liked the fact you could open the window slightly for fresh air although there is aircon in the studio rooms, The restaurant on ground floor had literally just opened on Friday 18th and they were offering buffet breakfasts for $15 per adult. It was very good value with a good selection of fruit, juices and hot buffet for the money and we dined there 3 mornings. I liked the fact that there were laundry facilities on level 1 and they never seemed to be in use (3 x Maytag washers and 3 x dryers). $5 for a wash and $4 for a dry. The parking cost $22 per night and it was an easy car park to manoeuvre in and out of and we always found a car park. Unlike some hotels, it was as many entries and exits within the 24 hours as you wanted. We had booked a studio room and were upgraded to a select studio and Chris checked us in 2 hours ahead which was brilliant. we had requested a quiet room not near the elevators and were happy with the choice on level 4. There were issues with wifi in the room being very weak at times. Also, the safe didn't initially work but the Receptionist came up and fixed it immediately when we called. Overall, for the money you can spend staying in Melbourne city, this was a good hotel and location, there is a building being constructed next door. We stayed over public holidays and the weekend and heard no noise whatsoever but I can imagine that it could be a problem during the weekdays, I'd hope the hotel is not putting people in rooms on that side of huge building for that reason.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on the side of the construction site.

Second stay here. Wins on price and service consistently. Front desk staff were faultless, even printed off my boarding card. Cleaning staff lovely and rooms spotless. Pool was lovely. I'll be back again next week. Citidines on Bourke is my favourite hotel in Melbourne, but Pegasus wins on value for money.
