Me and 3 girlfriends headed to Shed 5 on a Saturday night in December and were seated outside. The night was balmy, although they did switch on the heaters for us and we had a view of the city lights of Melbourne/Crown. The promenade is not that busy with foot traffic so we felt comfortable to laugh as laoudly as we wanted. There were bar stools and 2 other tables outside although not cramped together which was fantastic!
The food is to die for and worth the price! We had a few servings of pita bread, tsaziki and a fava bean dip with a betroot terrine. All were served home style and good serving sizes. We shared the lamb neck (devine and a must try!), half roasted chicken, chips with garlic dip and a village salad. The food was authentic, fresh and so tasty! We had quite a few cockatils and the bar men started serving us jugs of Margaritas even though jugs were not on the drink menu.
Service was good. My friend has an allergy to nuts and the starters we were served all had the nuts. He apologised profusely and allowed us to keep the starters and also had new ones made up which was nice and at no additional cost. He was attentive and friendly.
A must try in Melbourne to start a night of drinking!
