There are a myriad of choices here in a busy, interesting setting. Just stroll down the street and choose from the many cafes and restaurants on offer. The service is fast and the prices reasonable.

Melbourne is the heart and soul for laneways, finding feeds cheap and hidden are a treasure.
Degraves was brilliant, not hidden so the crowds are plentiful but crowds mean the food is good and even though looks busy, you will be seated in moments and never have to wait long.
We had breakfast, tapas and soup (three different restaurants) and loved them all.
Definitely go to the soup kitchen, has 11 different soups to try and mix, beautifully warming on a cold windy day. Takeaway too.

There is a great range of food and drink outlets so you are not spoilt for choice or quality. At peak times (breakfast, etc) it is abuzz with people so it's a bit hard to find a seat but if you wait a bit some will become available. Prices are very reasonable.

We had a breakfast and lunch here on following days, very nice ambience, and also had breakfast in another lane nearby, also very nice.

There are many stalls in this street. It is always full of people and the price is reasonable. It would be a bit hot if in summer.
