“Very good asian food”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Went there on the last night in Melbourne because of reviews on tripadvisor. Was not disappointed. Food was very fresh and absolutely appealing. Service was very attentive and in tune. Lobster mornay was to die for and all other fantastic choices of food were exceptional. Well worth the money and cant wait to go back.

“Nice buffet”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

I think this is the best all you can eat buffet in Melbourne. Nice food, but it's a little bit expensive.

“Good, but not memorable”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Mid-week on as a family outing. The kids really enjoyed the place picking a wide range of small morsels to try. I thought the choice was a little limited, maybe we were a bit late, but some of the dumpling options were missing. Care was taken to ensure that food was kept warm but not drying out. There were plenty of desserts, but they were a little hit and miss.

Looking at all the positive reviews maybe we will try the bar again, but to be honest that is the only reason will will visit again.

“Huge selection - somewhat industrial in flavor”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

Having read all the fantastic reviews on China Bar Signature I was really excited to try it on my trip to Melbourne. We went with friends at the end of August. There was an insane amount of food on offer - and the dumplings, pork buns and spring rolls were very good. The seafood was also very fresh, plenty of it, and the staff was welcoming and friendly. I did think it was all a bit tasteless though. It tasted like mass quantity prepared food and as such it was a bit bland. We ate quite late and some of the hot dishes looked like they had been around for a while. The salads were also pretty wilted. So we bypassed those. I had the China Bar's signature cocktail and as a former bartender I have to say I was underwhelmed by the drink as well. Given that I had such a positive outlook when we arrived it was a let down. The bill with drinks came to $163 for the two of us and for that kind of money I expect a good meal and well prepared drinks. You would be better off eating at the Shark Fin Inn (or House) just up the street and in Chinatown or one of the dumpling places for a twentieth of the price.

“Asian Buffet”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Staff amazing. Came in the night before and had the royal tour and every single buffet was explained by the manager. Unbelievable. Booked for the dinner buffet for the next evening and were not disappointed. The amount fresh food and cooked food unbelievable. Wonderful experience. Can only recommend. Will go again, when in Melbourne.
