Melbourne Connection Traveller's Hostel is small but quaint and located really close to Southern Cross so I didn't have to carry my bags far. The people staying there are really friendly- I'm travelling on my own and at bigger hostels you don't make friends so easily, but here everyone socialises and includes new people into the group. I met so many nice people from all over the world! Becuase there's a very social atmosphere it does get a bit rowdy in the kitchen on the weekends but everyone's out by 11pm and you cant hear it from rooms upstairs anyway.
There's sky TV upstairs and they've got the sports channels so you watch the football matches from back home, and they've got loads of movies and dramas on the massive TV downstairs. Most of the guys were more interested in the playstation though lol.
Most of the staff are female and so as a girl travelling on my own, I always felt accommodated and looked after there. The staff also know all the best sights, tours and clubs in Melbourne, whatever your budget :) It's a great place and it's really cheap compared to some other places so if you're coming to Melbourne definately check it out :D
