Good points - Great location, very funky, kitchen's alright, free rice and pasta is great. The staff were great and everything seemed pretty clean

Bad points - Bring ear plugs due to the central location the public transport is incredibly loud. This is not the fault of the hostel, just a warning. A pattern with Nomads is that the people are rowdy, so be warned. Great if you're ready to party. The staff don't seem to hugely enforce keeping the rooms tidy. Hard to consider a home.

However, I would recommend this place for a few nights. Does the trick and more than enough to get your head down and kip for the night.

If it's only bed to sleep that you're looking for, then it's fine. Cheap and very good location, especially to Southern Cross Station, free City Circle tram, and Aquarium. Food is an issue though, because it is situated further away, so take a tram would be wiser. Very near to Crown Casino too if you like to try your luck :p

Bedroom is alright for the price, lockers and luggage room available. Kitchen and dining areas a little boring though, especially the storage area which adds to the messy look.

I had no issues staying for 4 nights over there. It's not as noisy as others mention. But cigarettes smells is the thing i hate when i walk into the building or while waiting for the tour guide to pick me up at the corridor.. I would prefer if there's no smoking there as the smokes tends to enter the building easily...

Stayed here for 3 nights and the place is basically a converted warehouse or something. It was dirty, the bathrooms, kitchen was just disgusting! They offered free tea, coffee, pasta and rice, but that was left out all day and flys buzzing round. I stayed in a 10 dorm, mixed. The bathrooms were mixed also. Only good thing was they had free luggage storage . Plus staff were quite helpful . Was very noisy hostel. Trams stop outside, and pub next door, but it's a city, so it wasn't the worst thing!

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

We came here as got a great deal as we booked from nomads in sydney. the title says it all really, to be honest the staff here (well the ones i've encountered) have been really nice and helpful and havn't had any huge complications. The shower rooms were clean and very usable and havn't seen any cockroaches or the like in our room. Kitchen was clean-ish but thats down to annoying people not cleaning up properly after themselves. You do get the noise of the trams going past if your room is on the road but reception provide free earplugs so its all good. If i was in melbourne i wouldn't have a problem returning :)

If you ever choose to stay at a backpackers in Melbourne, avoid Nomads All Nation Backpackers on Spencer street, at all cost. It's filthy, doesn't feel safe and secure and is EXTREMELY noisy. I didn't like it one bit. Didn't get much sleep at all. The bedding was clean and all, but the trams stopping in front of the hostel made it a living hell. I kept waking up scared for my life to the sounds of the trams stopping there. The toilet on my floor was nasty. I was never asked to provide any proof that I was staying at the place to have access to the baggage locker room. I could have left with any suitcase I wanted. They did offer a paid locker on the website but it was un-conveniently out of service when I stayed there. It's not worth saving a few bucks.

Thank you very much for your review. We highly appreciate that you took the time to share your experience at Nomads All Nations with us.
We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your time here and apologize for that. Unfortunately, being located right in the centre is on the one side a great thing, but on the other side problematic due to the noise level of public transport. Next time come and see reception for some free earplugs to secure you a smooth sleep. :)
Unfortunately, our paid lockers were out of order when you stayed here due to will full damage of other guests and had to be fixed. You will be pleased to know that they are running again now.

Happy travels!!

When we read the reviews before we arrived we expected a real horror hostel. However we were fully surprised by what we experienced. The hostel is based right in the city center & the building might look shabby from the outside but it's been done up inside! We were welcomed really great by reception & they helped us out where to go & what to do. The general atmosphere was very vibrant and young &
we met lots of new people on our first day. The hostel has a really cool bar downstairs where we partied hard with some of our new
friends all night! Definitely can recommend it if you're after a traditional backpacker hostel in Melbourne!!

I had an OK stay, nothing great nothing bad. Location was good the biulding is looking a little tired. Looks like they are trying hard to clean it up a bit. Didnt make to many friends, not a very sociable place if your not a big drinker, they have a busy bar next door
