“What a shame”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

This lovely little place offered beautiful home cooked food, friendly service and a great outdoor seating area. But it is no longer. It seems to have closed down.

“Highly recommended”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Ousia is one of those cafes which is easy to miss, though you really don't want to. The space is small, almost cramped, so you really have to be lucky to get a seat, even during the week. While the coffee is good, the real attraction is the cakes, which change regularly, and are always delicious. Popular with the locals, I wouldn't be surprised if some people go out of their way to visit. Highly recommended.

“Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

A quaint little restaurant, situated in the quiet suburb of Hartwell.
Hosted by a very friendly, delightful couple . The menu focuses on healthy and deliciously prepared food , all cooked by Mary herself. Largely Greek menu (with a hint of Moroocan at times) It is a hidden treasure in a peaceful leafy suburb.
Also her special " Greek celebrations" are popular events.

“Quaint and unquestionably excellent”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

A late night peek in the window was enough to invite two girlfriends here for brekky last Saturday morning and it was delightful. A little old shop opposite the Hartwell Station and a lovely green park, beautifully decorated to recall years ago when you could sit and chat over a decent cup of tea and freshly made delicacies beconned us.
The food was fresh from the oven and the service was refreshingly friendly. The fresh flowers in the little vases dotted around and the vintage bits of memorabilia scattered around made this a real treat for the three of us. The little shop is small enough inside to be cosy. You need to ensure you can get a table if it is raining and cold, or go out in the court yard.
We will return, next weekend. We tried the banana bread this time and it was delicious.
What a fabulous find in a very pretty spot.
