The range of exhibits from early days of film & Tv to visual concepts was fascinating for all ages. This area is free but there are other changing displays & films showing at the same venue with an entry charge.

“Always worth a visit”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Check what is on exhibition. The permanent exhibition is small.
Website provides all the information you need.
It's part of Federation Square, which is the large open space opposite the Flinders Sreet Station main entrance on the corner of Flinders and Swanston Street, on tthe river side. ACMI is at the back, just wander thru the square until you see the signs.

“Game masters exhibition a must”
Reviewed September 28, 2012 via mobile

We took the family to game masters exhibition. It was a blast from the past. Very interesting. The other free exhibits were also wonderful. So much to see.

“Always interesting exhibitions and films”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

ACMI has exhibitions on film related themes which are great. They also show alternative films, e.g. old, non-commercial, etc. The seats in the theatre are very comfortable and well spaced for good viewing. There is also a cafe for coffee, a snack, a drink or a meal.

“Interesting building”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

Good cafe opening onto Fed Square and interesting theatres and shops make this a great place to visit for any reason.
Good shows and good disabled facilities make it accessible to all.
