The service and quality of food was great, lovely spot for dinner for two or quiet feel venue for a few friends to catch up. Felt very personalized as only two staff (chef & waiter) great meal :)

“Such a great find on Lygon Street!”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

A birthday dinner with my daughter at Svago last week turned into a beautiful dining experience. It was a very cold Wednesday evening with only three small parties enjoying this venue with its amazing menu. The tables are spaced apart enough so you have some semblance of verbal privacy and are nicely set with crisp white tablecloths and floral arrangements - it looks inviting and slightly formal. With the charming attention of Lars to guide us, we enjoyed a warm bread and olive platter as we studied the menu. It was difficult to choose from the range on offer from pear gnocchi and risotto beetroot to salmon and Duck a l`Orange; it all sounded delicious. We eventually decide upon the Loin of Lamb ($31) which was served with braised legumes, pea puree and Juniper berries jus and the mushroom risotto ($21) with a side dish of seasonal organic young vegetables tossed with garlic, butter and olive oil ($7). The freshness of the food was outstanding and it was obvious the chef takes pride and a lot of care in preparing top quality food. You don't often come across a restaurant of this calibre. For desert we shared a Cheese Selection($14) which is often just thrown together at some eating houses. Not at Svago's!! The 3 superb cheeses offered with a selection of very fresh and thinly sliced fresh fruit & some nuts was a perfect finish to a perfect meal. Lars was also very accommodating and presented my daughter with a supplied small chocolate cake complete with lighted candle for her birthday, (thank you so much!). Svago's is a true dining experience and we will return to enjoy this fabulous menu again. Very highly recommended!!

Best food experience of my life. Excellent service. Standout was the 5 Mushroom Risotto with Truffle Oil and the Gnocchi with Pear and Walnuts. Chocolate mousse is exquistie, so was the Calamari with the Squid Ink Aoli. Everything we had was to die for! Highly recommend this place. Loved it!
