Good value accommodation in an excellent position a minute from the river front. Good sized room with comfortable twin beds. 5-10 minute walk from Federation square and Flinders street station the main hub area.
Minutes from the Crown Casino complex which offers good casual dining at the food court and steps away from all the riverfront restaurants. A value for money stay right where you want to be as a first time visitor to Melbourne. A mix of people staying, including Aussies in town for the Moto GP when we were there.

I actually won two consecutive nights at this hotel, very generous of them!
we got the 'standard queen' Room was clean, had enough room for the queen bed, armchair and
table with two chairs. It was also walking distance to the southbank restaurants and crown.
Shower was fairly average, quite small, and maybe a little outdated, but all in all great.
we asked for a few things, late check out was one. and I thought to myself we got this place for free
surely they won't be too quick to sort things out, but they did service was wonderful by the woman at reception, and we got another hour on to our checkout which was fantastic!
PS...if you're driving, don't park at Wilsons, park at the underground parking under the Langham across the street and take your ticket to reception and they cap your stay!

Room Tip: try not to get rooms 9 10 or 11 on each floor as they are opposite the elevators and can be noisy

This hotel is clean and extremely well located. A short walk to the flinders street station, the city and south bank attractions such as the casino. There is a cafe close to the hotel which was very good. Turn left out the doors and it is 50 meters or so away on the left before the Belgium bar - which I was told by friends was also very good. I don't know about value as I wasn't paying but the location is hard to beat.

A bog standard chain hotel room. Clean, spacious and perfectly comfortable. The staff were good and the location is excellent. By Aussie standards it was decent value for money.

Like seemingly all Australian hotels, the wifi was a total rip-off, and wasn't particularly fast. I complained and asked for an ethernet cable, but was told i couldn't be helped, that the Internet is provided by an external company and all they could offer me was a refund. Really poor, but exactly the same in all 4 hotel is stayed at in Australia on this trip.

A typical big city midrange hotel. Its big advantage is its location in the south bank of downtown Melbourne. You have easy access to everything. Getting to the car park when you arrive is a bit of a challenge but after that you don't need the car. The staff were pleasant and efficient; I was extremely surprised when the young lady checking me out remembered me from the previous day when I checked in. The rooms are a typical size; small but have everything you need including a small fridge. I just wish Travelodge would put lips on their shower stalls so that water does not go everywhere in the bathroom; makes it unpleasant for people that follow. Would stay again.
