I was in a small room on the third floor - was doomy and gloomy so not the greatest experience but overall my stay was pleasant enough.

Spent 3 nights at the Rendezvous in one of their deluxe rooms. If you're looking for a very comfortable, clean stay, this is the place. Every request we had was fulfilled, including letting me use the computer behind the reception desk so I could print some docs. Very friendly and helpful service. Great gym. Seriously comfortable room. And the location.. Amazing. Do yourself a favor and book here. 5 stars.
I stayed here a couple of times on business. Hotel rooms are small dark and depressing. Staff unfortunately do not lighten the mood of this place at all. Plenty of better options around.
Stayed one night last year and again last night - still good. Clean, modern room with all amenities. Great buffet breakfast. Took advantage of a discount voucher and didnt feel second class at all. Elegant building. Will stay again.
Good value, good location. Had no issues. Would stay again.
OK we booked a great cheap deal but got the feeling we were the poor relations. Four people behind the reception desk but no one to help us lug our bags up the steps. Twin room with view of hotel interior windows was clean spacious and comfortable. Mini bar well stocked and not outrageously priced. Dissappointed that lounge bar was closed as it was being used for a conference... after being sold 'free drink in bar' with breakfast package which also included internet access. Don't bother paying 29.95 for breakfast. It is a good breakfast but hte restaurant is in the basement and has absolutely no charm. This is where you were supposed to go to have a drink. No arrangements were made for people just wanting to do that and clearly businessmen felt awkward being sat on their own at tables with a drink in front of them. Walk 100m up the road to Degraves Street for dozens of great cafes offering fabulous coffee and breakfast. Rendezvous promotes itself as a 'Heritage' hotel. Why isn't reception in the beautiful part of the hotel? The health club is situated in a fairly small space with no room for floor work and no toilet or shower facilities. Cardio equipment was fully utilised in the mornings. Found reception staff fairly off hand and task orientated. When we went to check out at 4.00am (which we had advised receiption the night before) we were advised to hail a cab on the street ourselves. Fortunately my daughter who did this is a 6ft tall serving police officer... she wasn't intimidated by the drunks on the street. Surely a porter or doorman should be available to help clients at this time of the night.
