Stayed 3 nights. Handy location, across the road from Queen Vic Market and a two block walk to the free Circle Tram. The room was clean and the staff helpful. Would definately stay again.

Stayed 3 nights at the Jasper. Arrived tired after a long flight from the UK. First 3 nights we stayed at the Jasper. The hotel is modern and clean but do not expect many frills. The hotel is situated in the back packers area of Melboune and beggars will accost you for money. The room was adaquate in size and clean all round. Th room was extremley noisy even though we were near the top floor. There was no double glazing to the window hence the busy street noise came stright into the room. The staff were friendly and helpful with all enquiries.

We stayed here for 2 nights last weekend and it was fantastic value for money. We got a great cheap flight and hotel deal with Virgin Blue Holidays. It had everything we needed - big bed, clean bathroom, flat screen tv and nice and quiet (on the 8th floor and markets side). It is centrally located and also has some great Korean BBQ options just a street away. Would definitely recommend if you can find a great deal.

The Jasper Hotel in Melbourne is a colorful hotel, literally…every floor of the hotel is painted a different color. I arrived at the Jasper Hotel in Melbourne, the second stop on my Australian and New Zealand Spring Break trip to find myself staring at an abandoned building when the driver announced I had arrived. I was pleasantly surprised when I turned around and saw the hotel. I checked in and proceeded to my room on the 4th floor. The rooms of this hotel are quite colorful. The furniture is “minimalist”, yet functional. The staff was very nice and helpful, allowing me into the locker room to access my valuables whenever I needed to, (there are no in-room safes). There are several nice eateries in the local area, and the free city loop trolley is a short walk from the hotel. It is located right next door to the Queen Victoria Markets on the outskirts of Downtown Melbourne, and is a block and a half from one of the central pick-up/drop-off points for local tour companies. I would recommend this hotel for people who just need a place to crash while enjoying Melbourne.

Great hotel in a central location allowing you to easily get around Melbourne city centre. Room was just the right size complete with flat screen and a handful of local tv channels. Great little bathroom too. Reception area was very spacious and welcoming and our dealings with the staff at reception were excellent. They were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was also very secure at night. The restaurant from memory is only open until around the afternoon time, but is an excellent place to get something to eat. The breakfasts on offer each day were great, albeit not included with the room. One criticism I'd have were the windows in the room were not the best and as a result the passing traffic outside got quite noisy in the morning. Other than that though would recommend a stay at the Jasper.

We stayed here for one night and wish it could have been more!

The hotel is well located for Queen Victoria Market, the Old Melbourne Gaol and the restaurants of Lygon Street. Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. We had an executive room which was well-sized, immaculately clean, comfortable and contemporary. The bathroom was particularly lovely, with a wet-room shower.

I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone staying in Melbourne.
