Everything which we wished to do on our Melbourne trip was close and easily accessable from our hotel.
The only thing that myself and my partner missed was some facilities to heat or cook some light meals when we really didn't feel like going out.
Other than that, service was great, staff were very friendly.
Appearence of the hotel was eye catching from the entrance, the fish tank looks beautiful and really caught out attention.

We stayed for three nights one of which was NYE.... it was a last minute booking and we really had no idea what we were booking... we were literally in the car on the outskirts of Melbourne and needed accomodation for 3 nights... looked on the internet and found The Victoria Hotel. We found it to be clean and great value for money....$380 for 3 nights including NYE. We found the service for our stay to be great from the moment we drove our car into the valet parking service to the moment we checked out. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a heritage room which was a great size and had an extra bed (which we didn't really need) but were able to put our stuff on. We did see the inside of other rooms when housekeeping was cleaning and were glad we had an upgrade as they appeared to be really small and not as nice as the room we had.
Thank you Victoria Hotel for making our stay in Melbourne a memorable and confortable stay.

The ease with which I found the hotel was welcomed. The front desk staff were friendly and capable and I appreciated the help given by the porter - I needed to store my baggage for a few hours before my room was available. Only one critisicm, there was an unpleasant smell around the area of the elevators - it smelt like I was walking into a urinal! Please take the time to ensure that smell disappears!!

My partner and I stayed here for The Eagles concert. It is our second time staying, but our first since it has been renovated. We had a Bellerive Room and it was fine for our purposes. Good size bed, good size shower, clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Downside was paying $5 each for 2 lockers to store our luggage on the last day, as our bags wouldn't fit into one locker. Overall, location is very good, good cafe for breakfast only a minutes walk out the doors to the right. The Thai restaurant, Alices, right next door is also great if you are too tired to go far after a busy day shopping.

Thank you very much for your feedback. The luggage lockers are part of a huge redevelopment of the hotel, and are meant to give our customers a safe and secure place to store their luggage when seeing the sights. The previous luggage area was dingy dark and had to make way for the new foyer development, which I am sure you will agree greatly enhances the look and experience of staying at the hotel, as well as provide the secure system so many clients had asked for. We are glad you enjoyed your stayed and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room since the recent refurbishment.
This hotel is in the centre of Melbourne city and within walking distance to shopping, theatres, cinemas and restaurants. It is excellent value for money.

Being associated with Accor, we expected more from The Victoria Hotel.
Although the location was great, the service was poor and it was not the luxury night we had expected. The room was small and pokey and very average, we likened it to being like a backpackers hotel. The roof was very low giving the feeling of being squashed in and the shampoo smelt like dishwashing liquid!
With names such as the Softetel assocaited with Accor, as I said we expected more. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend and will not be staying there again.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologise that your stay at The Victoria Hotel was not as you expected or hoped for. The Victoria Hotel Melbourne is affiliated to Accor Hospitality and not a true branded hotel such as the 5 star Sofitel you mention. Thank you once again for your comments.
