“Costume display”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Visited this free attraction on Sunday, dresses worn by Dame Joan Sutherland, a cloak worn by Dame Nellie Melba and an outfit worn by Hugh Jackman in The Boy from Oz but lots more.

The workmanship in all of the displayed costumes is a must see.

“Centre of the Arts”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Love everything about this place from the tip of the spire, lit up at night, to the black and gleaming walls of the basement. Check out the curved bar, the gallery space with its temporary exhibitions, the display cabinets downstairs with their costumes from shows past. Only disappointment is that the restaurant at the back isn't a bit more interesting.

“A touch of class”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

Happened to find the Art Deco exhibition on at the Art Centre. We went to the show and then found High Tea was being served in the Cafe. It was a delightful surprise and completed our day.

“Melbourne Cultural visit in November 2013”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

Entry was not well signposted so you walk around in a circle outside well ok I was watching someone have their wedding photos taken outside the building adjoining and got distracted nevertheless a sign would have been better than a doorway not being used when it had a lead up to it. Exhibition was enjoyable and always exhibited brilliantly

“Concert hall in Melbourne”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

I went to a Sunday afternoon concert in the Hamer Hall, and quite apart from the fact that the concert given by the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Martin Frost (Clarinet) was truly wonderful, I was totally impressed by the hall itself. As a professional musician I've played in loads of places world wide, but I would imagine that these musicians will have thoroughly enjoyed their experience and the hall's acoustic, Front of house is unpretentious, friendly, easy to navigate, and everything is spotlessly maintained. A really enjoyable place to be.
