This is the 3rd time I've stayed at the Westin in Melbourne and once again it was an absolutely lovely experience. It is by far my favourite hotel in Australia. The staff really do go out of their way for you, and nothing is too much bother. The room was fantastic, the amenities lovely, the breakfast the next morning in the restaurant was a real treat. Spectacular scrambled eggs! A great spread sure to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. I really cannot emphasise my unequivocal recommendation of this hotel. A fine place!

This hotel is almost perfect.

The hotel is conveniently located near to Flinders St station and Federation Square. The hotel decor is clean and modern. Staff are very confident and professional. The rooms are a good size. The bathroom was spacious with a seperate rain shower and good lighting. The hotel also offers a very good buffet breakfast (ask for a table on the balcony if the weather is good).

The gym features cardio machines with TV screens, some resistance machines and free weights. One minor criticism is that the gym had a bench press but no bar-bells. One other minor criticism is that the TV channels in the room were somewhat limited (no BBC World for example).

If I was returning to Melbourne, I would definitely stay here again. I wouldn't even think of looking at any other hotel.

I have to agree with the last several posts. This hotel is flawless.
From the second you are greeted by the bell staff they are sincerely friendly. They have a great touch as you exit a taxi. They give you a card with the taxi company and taxi cab number in case you leave anything in the taxi.

The front desk staff was very effecient and professional. The staff member walked me to the elevator to familarize me with its operation.

The rooms are very nice as well. Extremely large bathrooms and our room was very nice with an amazing view of the city. Housekeeping offered turn down service nightly.

This hotel seems to be a popular place with local businessmen for happy hour.

I can't say enough good things about this property. It was built right, maintained right, and is managed right.

The service at this hotel was flawless. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious.
The hotel breakfast was also very good.
The pool and spa were very minimalist and clean.
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I really couldnt fault anything about the service or the standard of room.

Received a huge room on a high floor with a balcony for a very good rate.

The swimming pool and spa (indoors) are so peaceful, clean and nice that I spent hours in there. The lap pool was never very busy. It also has a smallish gym.

There are so many restaurants and bars in the local area - the Concierge always secured us the best table in the restaurants so definitely worth booking through him (we went to Taxi which does great Japanese and modern aus/asian food).

Stay here - you wont be disappointed.

My husband stayed at the Westin for three nights and I just loved just about everything. We had a deluxe king room with a small juliette balcony and it was truly beautiful. The bathroom was huge with a fantastic rain shower. What bliss! But I have to mention that the pool area needed some general maintenance. The pool itself was very clean and well maintained but the handrails in and out of the pool and spa were very loose and quite dangerous if you leant on them. Also no-one was ever around to help you or clean up mess that others had left behind i.e. tissues, empty drink containers etc. and I think that this is very poor for a 5 star hotel. We did enjoy our stay there however, it is in an excellent location for walking to all the tourist spots and for catching the tram, however, it can be very noisy on Swanston street with the trams and we couldn't leave the doors to the balcony open as it was quite noisy, even though we faced Collins Street.

This is a stunning hotel in a great location. the decor is nice, not the best ive seen but very modern - the bathrooms especially were stunning-the shower was incredible. we even had a balcony overlooking the main street. the room has all the mod cons including net access for 25 aus dollars a day, but there is free wirless in the hotel lobby - though this is very slow as it is the free internet available for the whole city the food was above average but pricey. the only downside was to get intothe hotel there was no access from the main street in front of the hotel, instead you had to walk up two side streets, which at night were not particularly welcoming. the other downside was the rooms were not cleaned throughly. the bathroom shelves were not wiped down, the bedroom furniture was not wiped once during my stay, and after 3 days gathered a tremendous amount of dust which did wonders for my asthma! location is very central and within easy reach of shops, food and transport. def recommend!
