Okay- let me get two minor gripes out of the way-- The check in time is 2pm and they will give you the key at this time, not noon, 1pm or 1:45 pm like I attempted. If you arrive early ask to use the shower in the exercise room, clean up after your 14 hr flight but NO ROOM FOR YOU until 2pm. Secondly- some rooms have a terrible view of a construction site.
Now everything else was perfect. We got such a deal on a 5 night stay- $560 usd in toto [ but bad view] noiseless sleep in a great mattress, room spotless and restocked/cleaned daily, above ave. sized room with a huge soaker tub, newspapers of your choice, free internet-we never heard the elevator noise-its fixed. Above all - the staff was always helpful and welcoming. The consig. Rob Friend was most helpful in selecting restaurants but with Victoria Market just next store you will always dine well and cheaply if you wish.
The hotel is also on the free trolley as well as free tourist bus line so we never hired a cab and managed to see almost all Melbourne offered.
This place is a find but search out its website for deals !!

I have stayed at the Radisson on a number of occasions for work, and I can highly recommend it for either the business or pleasure traveller. The hotel is located just about next to the Queen Victoria market and opposite the Flagstaff gardens. There is a tram at the front door and a train station only 100 meters away. The hotel is located about half way between the city center and the Docklands.

Rooms are well sized and the bed is king size. The bathroom had all the amenities that you would expect.

Breakfast was include in the rate and is a smorgasboard, with a large variety to choose from.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 days during a world trip. Very convenient location, with trams passing in front, and metro station a short walk away. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, and as other reviewers have said, the concierge was fantastic. He helped with anything we wanted, and was a fountain of knowledge. what an asset to the hotel. The room we stayed in was at the front, was clean and roomy. The free internet helped in keeping contact with family. The Downside is the restaurant. Expensive and not very good food, with a longish wait for it to arrive. We can recommend the hotel, and if we visit Melbourne again would stay at the hotel again.

Checked in mid morning and although the room was available till 2 our bags were stored safely and staff were very helpful with initial directions to the city. Bags were delivered to the room and were ready on our return to the hotel later that day.Room was business suites on level 8 over the front of the hotel and flagstaff gardens.Located on the top edge of the city shopping area close to tram services and just by the queen victoria markets. pleasant surroundings and about a 20 min walk to central downtown melbourne, A massive Thanks goes to Rob Friend the hotels concierge & best asset to Melbourne, daily he stopped us and gave us plenty of help and directions and a map, a cheery face and always pleasant - whatever he's paid -give him a pay rise!, but not forgetting the other hotel desk staff - very professional and gave the hotel a classy feel.
Room had a foldaway bed but still had plenty of room with a giant king bed, plenty of little nicities throught the room. checkout was 11 am but bags were stored and use of the fitness suite shower area was given to freshen up for a late night airport transfer.

I have stayed in this hotel 5 times and every time I am very pleased. This hotel is in a good locations, with good rooms and excellent staff - it delivers consistently.

The rooms are a good size, well laid out and are not dated at all. The hotel is quiet and located on the edge of the city, directly across the road from Flagstaff Gardens and are very close to the Markets.

I am always surprised at the comfort levels of the beds in this hotel -- If I could buy one for home, I would!!

The service is always excellent - in all areas from reception to the restaurant and has a fanastic gentleman who I have seen on each trip in Concierge.

I will continue to stay in this hotel - for business and pleasure... very impressive.

The Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens was good value for money in a central location in Melbourne. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and free internet was a bonus. The room itself was nice, the bathroom a little basic. Be careful however when having breakfast- I had a bowl of cereal and was charged $25! Overall a good place to stay.

Stayed 2 nights in a Premium room. Corner room with 2 windows - fairly noisy airconditioning duct that seemed to go through the wall which was weird - noise abated after about 10 pm - so no worries. Comfy bed, good bathroom and ammenities.
Very handy spot for Queen Vic Markets. Self parking a 5 minute walk down the road. A pleasant experience , not spectacular.
