“Good for Short Term Stay”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

The hotel was clean with good views over Treasury Gardens. However, the bathroom is exceedingly small. There are no clothe hanging space and Foxtel channeles are limited. Public transport is superb. At the right price and for a short period this is worth considering.

Room Tip: Select a high room overlooking Treasury gardens

We have stayed here before and were not disappointed this time. We only used the room on this occasion, with the check in seamless, the room very clean and comfortable. We have booked again for the end on May 2013 for another night.

We spent a week in late April at the Mercure Melbourne Treasury Gardens.Great view over the gardens and morning sunlight. The rooms are rather small but well designed and functional. I would rank it a very good 3 star hotel in an excellent location.

Mercure Spring Street is located across from Treasury and Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne. close the the MCG, the Museum and Fed Square. The restaurant is great and the ability to walk wherever you need to go is wonderful - so easy to get around.

I've been in this hotel during the 2013 Australian Open (second half of january), after many researches online: even if it's not 'downtown' (but Melbourne downtown isn't really so worth to be visited....), the location is perfect to go to the tennis park along Batman Av.
The room was quite comfortable (see my pic on the mirror!) and price was good for my 4 days of staying.
Unfortunately, like many other places in MEL, kitchens closed very early (at least for an european tourist like me, during summer time...), so having dinner after 10pm was very hard, especially when coming back from Hisense Arena or Rod Laver arena, where some tennis match lasted till late night.
About this topic, the event that more disappointed me, was that SAT night I had dinner by a fastfood, as after 11pm NO restaurant was open !!!

Anyway for watching the first slam of the year, this hotel is only 5m walking from tram station that takes in a few minutes directly to the two stops in front of the Arenas, and it's free for those who have the australian open tickets!
Really nice the gardens just accross the road, where was also possible to catch the old tram (in the pic) that gives you a free ride around the CBD; moreover, along Spring street, is very close, walking upwards, the metro station just in from of the Parliament.

Great location facing the park. the room has been renovated recently. Good overall design. Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent! Much better than many other Accor hotels, including novotel. You do hear some noise from upstairs if they are noisy...otherwise it's all good. Can do with a bit more attention to detail re cleaning.

It may not be the newest hotel in town but all in all excellent value, and if its a clean room good service and reasonably priced food your after this is a good choice. I stay here regularly and I keep going back.
