I personally ain’t a flower or tree viewer and have never been interested in this type of stuff, but I attended the botanic garden for a family picnic and fell in love the amount of wildlife and wildness in this location was amazing. I can’t recommend it enough

the Botanic gardens of Melbourne are certainly worth a visit. The plants are beautiful, there are small ponds and there are labels explaining where the different plants come from. You can have a stroll or lie down in one of the prairies. A green, quiet and very pleasant spot in Melbourne!

We visited this park on a beautiful afternoon and took tons of puctures. Our 5-year old was tored and bored after a while since the playarea here has no swings (just a sand pit and some trees/and murky looking water areas)...

Besides that, the flora and fauna here do not disappoint. It’s a haven within the city! Gets you a good exercise too

Good for a weekend walk, relaxing and nice atmosphere. It is conveniently accessible close to the South Bank and can spend there hours if you want. Don't miss the WWI Memorial!

We went in Fall, and the place was still beautiful. Fountains, birds and some flowers. Just a peaceful place, even though it's in the middle of the city.

The feeling of getting away from it all but still close to the city
Best of both worlds
Lovely to walk around or just sit and have a coffee and enjoy the summer sunshine

Great place to meet a friend, have a picnic or first date. Really pretty and amazing on a sunny day. Toilets can be a little bit and miss so maybe consider that before you put your rug down and drink a few litres of water. Such a beautiful place but as always be wary as it’s getting dark if your by yourself.

The garden is well laid out with an ornamental lake in the centre. There is a vast range of plants from all over the world. There is no charge for entry.
We had a sandwich in the cafe by the lake. The birds can be a bit of a nuisance if you sit outside.

An oasis in the city. Even though we went on a Saturday it was quiet and tranquil. Family oriented. Lots of variety.

we strolled beautifully kept paths around a picture postcard lake, complete with punters in period dress poling visitors around. Trees and bushes were conveniently named, and all beautifully kept. And free. A lovely day in Melbourne
